You come to.
You hear birds chirping and the ground beneath you is damp.Slowly you open your eyes and see a woman standing over you. She's saying something but you can't hear her. You feel a pair of arms lift you up. You try to stand with the motion but your legs give out, the woman catches you.
She sets you down on a bench that was nearby and pulls out her phone. A guy, presumably the woman's friend, comes into your field of vision and tries to talk to you. Dimly aware of what was happening you try to speak, or shake your head or something. But you simply slump into the man.
The woman comes back over and begins to pat your jacket pockets, presumably looking for your wallet. She pulls it out and continues to talk on her phone.
Your eyes faintly move around before closing again. You feel your breath turn ragged. The man holding you starts yelling at the woman and lightly hitting your face. You want to stay awake but find yourself slipping back under.
///////
Your eyes shoot open to see bright fluorescent lights. You weakly turn your head to the left and right, establishing that you're in a hospital room. You see an and IV in each of your arms. One filled with some saline solution the other with... blood?
A nurse across the room runs over when she sees your awake.
"Hello? Can you hear me?"
She wraps your hand around her fingers."Lightly squeeze if you can understand what I'm saying"
You do so.
"Do you know your name?"
"(Y/n)"The nurse smiles.
"Good. Good"
"I'm going to go let the couple that brought you here know you're okay, alright?"With that she leaves. You close your eyes.
The next time you open them you feel significantly better. A doctor is in the room conversing with the nurse from earlier. She goes to your bed side when she notices you're awake.
"Hello, good morning. My name is Doctor Farrow. You were admitted here in a case of extreme hypovolemic shock after a couple found you passed out on the ground. We're still not sure what caused the blood loss since you have no major wounds. Do you remember anything of what happened"
You try to think back. You had been on your evening run and - then it all just went to black. You shake your head.
"It's possibly your brain has repressed whatever happened in order to process it. We gave you several blood transfusions among other treatment. You'll be free to go in a couple hours"
With that the doctor leaves you alone.

A couple hours later you're unlocking your front door. You step inside, your cat Henry comes running to greet you.
"Hey baby boy" you stroke under his chin and he purrs.
You slip out of your jacket and athletic clothes, walking to the bathroom. You desperately needed a shower. When you get in the bathroom though you freeze. On your neck there were two small puncture wounds and a bruise the size of a golf ball. You step closer to the mirror and touch them, immediately yelping as they burn under your touch."What the fuck?"
If you didn't know any better you'd say it looked like you'd been bitten by a vam-The memories come flooding back. You stumble backwards slamming into the wall and sliding to the floor. You sit there, hand over mouth, quietly sobbing. That hadn't actually happened, had it? There had to be a more reasonable explanation for the marks. Vampires weren't real. There was no way you had actually been bitten by one in the forest.
You scramble up off the ground, throwing a robe on and slippers. You run out the front door, aware of how bizarre you look, and across the street to your neighbor and best friend, Kiba.
You press the door bell a few times before he comes to the door, opening it while yawning."Hey who is-"
He stops when he sees you standing there sobbing.
"Oh my god (y/n). What happened I haven't heard from you in days"
He lets you in and you cross to the couch."I'll make some tea okay?"
A few minutes later you're shakily sipping green tea. Kiba sits across from you, his dog Akamaru comes jotting up to your legs and you rub behind his ears.
"Okay, tell me what happened"
You briefly explain that a couple had found you passed out in the woods in hypovolemic shock and you'd been in the hospital for a few days."Oh Jesus Christ. How did that-"
"They don't know... I... I don't know"
You take another sip.
"At the hospital I couldn't remember what I had happened but when I got home and looked in the mirror I saw these"
You pull the robe down from your neck to show the puncture wounds."Saw what?" Kiba looks at you confused.
"The vampire marks??"
He comes closer, studying where you're pointing.
"(Y/n) I don't see anything"
Your stomach sinks.
"Listen, it sounds to me like you've had a really rough couple days and your probably still in a little bit of shock. You can stay here for now, ok? I'll go turn the shower on for you and we can talk once you're all clean and have had something to eat" Kiba smiles at you sympathetically and squeezes your shoulder before getting up and walking to his bathroom. When you get out of the shower you faintly touch the marks again. They hurt but not as much as before. Why couldn't Kiba see them? Maybe I also suffered from head trauma and I'm just ... mildly hallucinating.
Dressed in your best friends baggy clothes you sit at his kitchen island. He places a sandwich and a bottled water in front of you.
"Do you still see them?"
You nod with your mouth full.
"It's not just seeing them... I remember someone biting me there. It's why I was sobbing when I showed up."
You tell Kiba about the strange silver haired man with the really sharp teeth you remember seeing."That is weird, are you sure it wasn't just a shock induced dream?"
"I don't know.... I guess that's possible"
Kiba looks at his clock.
"I should probably call work and tell them I'm not coming in today""Oh you don't have to do that"
He laughs
"My best friend shows up at my door fresh out of the hospital claiming they were bit by a vampire and you're telling me I should just ignore them and go to work?""Do you have your cell on you? Mines sorta dead"
You go to pull it out of your pocket and then realize you hadn't seen it since that night.
"The uh... vampire made me drop it in the woods"Kiba raises an eyebrow.
"Okay... we can go get it later if you want. I doubt someone stole it"
He goes to his home phone instead and proceeds to call his boss. You finish the sandwich and take the phone from him ending the call.
"(Y/n)!"
"Kiba I'm okay now, really. I'm just going to go back home and rest ok?"
"Are you sure? Do you want me to come stay with you?""No, really ill be ok" you smile to reassure him.
Once back in your house, you jump onto your couch feeling your body sink into the cushions. You reflexively reach for your phone then remember you don't have it.
"Looking for this?"
You freeze, unable to breathe as you turn to look where the voice had come from.
Next to the window, in the shadows of the corner of your room stands the silver haired man from your dream, holding your phone.
"Yo" his mouth curls into a vicious sharp toothed smile
