Ch 11

hi. Updates are hard to do. I'm trying to graduate and the amount of work my teachers have shoved on us in wake of moving to online classes is ridiculous. it's hard to get up in the morning. I was supposed to have my prom today and instead I'm stuck in my homophobic household by myself.
Tho honestly your comments are really funny and they always make me laugh so thanks for that.

I do have plans for this and the other one but just like, be patient. Sorry x

You woke up the next morning pressed into Kakashi's side. Your alarm was blaring from your cell phone and you reached over to shut it off.

"Kakashi I have to get out of bed"

"Mm do you?"

"Kakashi cmon we talked about this last night I have to go to work"

You scooted backwards to look into his solitary eye.

"Oh my god you are not allowed to pout at me!"

He chuckles and presses a kiss to your forehead before slinking out of the sheets.

You follow him into the kitchen where you go about getting the coffee started and packing your lunch for the day.

"I'll be back around 7 and you can walk me home from the bus station if you're really worried"

"Mmh"

"Seriously it'll be fine Kakashi"

"you thought it'd be fine when you went out to dinner with Kiba"

You put down your mug.
"Ok yeah but nothing can attack me while it's light out so as long as I'm back by the time it's dark it's finnnnnneeeee. and my coworkers will see my new mysterious boyfriend~"

Kakashi chuckles.

You finish your breakfast and change into your work slacks, grabbing your purse on the way out.

"Try not to burn the house down while I'm gone?"

Kakashi puts his hands up
"I would never"
He says mock offended.

You walk briskly to the bus station and take a seat. You weren't exactly thrilled to be going back to the office, the mundane reality of analyzing accounting data for 8 hours was not appealing. But you bills to pay and a stupid vampire to thank for having to buy new furniture.

Your desk looked exactly as you remembered it, aside from a slew of "get well soon" cards and a couple dead flowers. What was new however was the person occupying the cubicle next to yours.

"Ah (y/n)!"

You turn to see your boss walking towards you with his arms open.

"So glad to finally have you back, all recovered yes?"

"Yes Mr.Chase thank you"

"While you were gone your previous deskmate Jessica quit on us, just completely stopped coming to work. We haven't been able to get a hold of her since last Friday. This-"

He walks around and pulls the person in the cubicle out by the back of their chair.

"Is the new hire, Haru. He's fresh out of school so I'm hoping an experienced person such as yourself would be able to you know, show him the ropes"

"Hi"
You offer your hand.

He smiles and shakes it lightly.

"Well I'll leave you guys to get to it then"
He goes, leaving the two of you alone.

"What university did you graduate from?"

"California State"

"Oh cool, I know some people from Cali"

You explained the program you used and walked through inputting some sets of data.

"It's pretty self explanatory from there but you can ask me any questions you have"

"Thanks (y/n)"

"No problem!"

You return to your desk, crack your knuckles, and get to work. You had a host of clients to catch up on and you were glad Haru had caught on quickly.

Your lunch break came sooner than expected. It was the ringing of your cellphone that brought you out of your daze. You eyed your own home number calling you suspiciously.

"Hello?"

"(Y/n)" came Kakashi's timber voice from the other end. You rolled your eyes.

"Yes? You couldn't wait ... 6 hours?"

"I know you're on lunch break~"

"Which I need to eat my lunch!"

" are you telling me you don't miss me already?... I just called to make sure you were okay"

"Yes Kakashi, I'm fine okay? There's no threatening figures in my office block"

"Fine. What are you eating today?"

"Hmm whatever the cafeteria has"

"Make sure to eat greens, for your iron"

"Yeah ok mom"

"I'm serious we can't have" he pauses
"Fun if you're blood doesn't replenish adequately"

You blush furiously.
"Oh my god shut up!" you say playfully.

You're interrupted by a light tap on your shoulder.

"Y/n? sorry to bother you I wasn't sure what to do with this set" It was Haru.

You hold up a finger and speak into the phone.
"Oh sorry I have to go I'll see you tonight ok?"

"What? (Y/n)-"

You hang up and turn to Haru.

"Boyfriend?" He asks

You're somewhat surprised by his forwardness.
"I guess you could call him that"

"Ah I'm not surprised, you are such a nice person" he smiles

You rub the back of your head and laugh awkwardly
"Aha thanks so what did you need help with?"

You get off the bus. Surely enough standing against the stop was one lanky silver haired vampire.

You smile and the two of you start to walk home together. It's a quiet night and sounds of crickets fill the air.

"How was your day?"

"It was kind of weird to be back but no one acted like I'd been gone at all. And there's this new guy I have to train which is a little annoying but"

"New guy?"

"Yeah some university graduate and apparently one of my best friends quit while I was gone. I'm gonna miss her"

"Sorry (y/n)"

"It's ok I'm sure she had good reason to, I'll try to contact her about it later. Soo what did you do all day?"

"Your tv doesn't have a lot of selections I was stuck watching friends for hours"

You laugh
"You know you can just change the channel right?"

"I couldn't find the remote"

"You're hopeless"

Kakashi smiles and walks a bit in-front before turning to face you.

"That's why I have you right?"

You feel yourself blush.
"Yeah I guess so"
