Ch 14

You and Kiba played fetch for a while until the sun began to set. 

"That's my cue" you say and start getting up.

"I'll walk you back home"

The sun has completely set by the time you get back to your house. There's a slim hope that Kakashi is back from his business but you doubt it. 

"text me ok?" Kiba asks, startling you out of your thoughts.

"Yeah of course"

He bends down to scratch pakkun's ears.

"See you later you little monster"

You watch Kiba go across the street before going inside. As expected your apartment is empty. 

"I hope you had fun pakkun... I have no idea what Kakashi does with you" 

The pug yawns in response. 

It's been a while since you've had any alone time. You consider your options. Wine night? Watch arcane... again? Read one of the erotic novels you'd downloaded but never started? That sounds good. 

You grab your phone and settle in bed. Pakkun joins you, opting to sit by your feet.

// Kakashi pov //

He hated dealing with the fae. They always treated him like he was stupid and constantly tried to pull one over on him. But they were the main source of blood for the sect.

He glanced at the full moon that was high in the sky at this point. Tenzo was standing next to him, clipboard in hand.

"Ready?"

"Yeah"

The two men head inside the temple that acted as the council room. Kakashi takes a seat at the end of the table, Tenzo sits next to him. It only takes a few minutes for the fae to start appearing.

"Kakashi" the leader begins

Kakashi nods dutifully. 

"What joy that we are here today. Another 6 months gone by without trouble"

"Yes how fortunate" 

"We've heard some ripples through our connections that you took out a certain vampire recently. As you know we had our own connections with Itachi"

Kakashi groaned internally. He was hoping they wouldn't bring up Itachi.

"Yes we had a confrontation of which I was the victor"

"We understand that you vampires have territorial disputes sometimes but our sources also claim that you'd been protecting a certain food source"

"Your sources are wrong," Kakashi says firmly. He wasn't sure what the fae would want if they knew he was getting involved with a human.

"Perhaps. We're not interested in your personal life. But this fight has certainly shaken up the community. We want to know you aren't going to kill off any more of our clientele"
