You stared at where Kakashi had been standing, breathing heavily. It took a few moments for your brain to process the last few minutes. You stood up shakily and walked to the bathroom. You quickly cleaned the cuts on your shoulder and bandaged them. They weren't deep and they were already healing, probably had something to do with Kakashi licking the wound.

Your wandering eyes settled on your reflection. What had just happened. Was Kakashi okay?
Sitting on the toilet cover you looked through your bathroom window and realized it was still light out. Your heart filled with concern.
Why were you concerned about him. He has just almost killed you. Kiba was right. You couldn't trust him.
You told yourself that but you knew it was a lie.

Kakashi had left because he hadn't wanted to hurt you. It was contrary to his apathetic and disgusted with humans demeanor. He said he didn't care about you, he only wanted your blood but he had almost died yesterday saving your life and now he had left during the day, ignoring the possibility that he would burn and die. Unless that part of vampire lore wasn't true. You hadn't bothered to ask him. You cursed yourself for that now.

You couldn't stand the thought that he was lying in the sun somewhere slowly dying. Especially since it partly was your fault. You thought about the past few days. You had tried to ignore the feeling that had blossomed in your chest. The blush that crept into your face every time the vampire was around. The looks you had given his slender form when he was passed out on your couch.

Not mention how eager you had been to make out with him last night. You covered your face with your hands. You couldn't possibly be in love with him. He was a vampire. A blood thirsty monster.

A handsome, sexy, kind, blood thirsty monster.

You groaned and realized needed to find him. You grabbed your backpack and your shoes, stuffing a blanket in it and grabbed your first aid kit then ran outside.
"KAKASHI" you yelled, scanning the surroundings.
You ran around your house to the window he had jumped out of and saw a broken branch not far from it. You ran towards it and spotted another one a while away.

Good, he had left a trail, might not have been on purpose but there was one. You followed broken branch after broken branch farther and farther into the forest behind your house. "Kakashi!"
You called out again.

You heard a howl from your right and ran towards the sound. Your heart was racing, you could hear the pain in the howl and your pace increased.

"Kakashi!" You cried out again, the worry filling your voice and spilling into the tense air. You spun around trying to locate where the soft crying was coming from.

Your eyes glance over a log and then you stopped. Logs didn't move but this one seemed to be twitching. You dropped beside Kakashi and pulled the blanket out of your back pack and draped it over his charred body. He was back in his human form and he seemed so small on the damp forest ground. You lift the blanket up and over both of you.
Then cradle his head in your lap.

"(Y/n)?"
His cracked lips open and close, your name barely coming out.

"Shhh. Shhh"
You cupped his face as tears slowly rolled down yours.

"You shouldn't be here"

"Shut up. You're the one who should be here, you could have died. don't ever do that again. Don't leave me. I don't know what I'd do with myself if you died because of me"
you pressed your forehead on his. You didn't care how embarrassing this was, you'd realized how much you'd come to care for him and now you couldn't bear the thought of losing him. You could feel the healing white flames from before surrounding you.

He chuckled against your face and then grimaced, his breathing shallow against your neck.
"If I didn't know any better I'd say you've fallen for me"

"Maybe I have" you say quietly. It was weird to say out loud.
His eye opened and he adjusted so he could stare into yours.

"Take it back. You can't be in love with me"

"You should know by now that you can't tell me what to do"

"I can. Since I'm in charge of your safety. Falling in love with me is a bad idea. It'll definitely end badly"

"Good thing I have a history of going through with bad ideas"
with that you gently pressed your lips on his. He groaned.

"Ah! I'm sorry did that hurt?"

He chuckled weakly and closed his eyes again. You smiled sympathetically.

"Let's get you home? Okay?"

You stepped out of the blanket and lifted him up, he stumbled but was able to stand. You both hobbled back to your house. Once you were inside he took your arm off of his shoulder and then shoved you to the wall.

You gasped when you saw his face had already healed. The white flames continued to lick at the rest of his body. A moment later he crashed his lips on yours. They were no longer burnt but soft.
He pulls away, hissing and you realize he's still in quite a bit of pain.
"Kakashi maybe you should sit-"

"You're going to regret saving my life" he cuts you off

"I highly doubt that" you lightly push the hair that had fallen into his eyes out of the way

He stumbles away, puffing loudly.
"Jeez I've gotten soft" he says to the empty air

You walk to his side and help him steady himself.
"I'm a danger to your life" whispers

"Isn't it the opposite? without you i'd have died"

"I'll lose control some day"

"I trust you. You won't"

"You don't know anything about me"

You sigh loudly
"You're right. I don't
But I'd like to"

He makes a weak noise that you can't quite place.
"Are you sure about this?"

You laugh and lean your face closer to his.
"I'm never sure of anything. But this? Yeah I'm sure"

His eyes soften and he kisses you again. It tastes of copper and sweets
