Chapter 10: Luke

Luke smiled as he looked at the beautiful girl sitting in the passenger seat of his car. He was so lucky that he had met someone so amazing.

To show how much he cared about her, Luke placed a hand on her knee once again. He noticed her tense a bit but she slowly got used to his touch, and it was the best feeling for Luke.

"Piper?" Luke asked as they slowed down at a red light.

"Mhm?" She hummed, leaning her head onto the chair and closing her eyes. Luke could stare are her forever.

"I'm really sorry about tonight." He smiled and the light turned green but he didn't drive.

"It's okay. I just was upset I couldn't be normal for at least one night." She sighed.

"I hate normal. I hate all those people in there except for probably three of them." Luke smiled wider and leaned closer to Piper's face.

She turned to look at him and Luke had never seen anyone so beautiful. He found himself leaning closer and closer until their lips were millimeters apart.

Just as he was about to close the short distance, a loud honk sounded from behind them and Luke groaned. Of course this would happen to him. He thought this shit only happened in movies.

He started the car, keeping his hand on Piper's knee and not daring to go any further.

Luke had almost kissed Piper twice tonight. He knew that he felt more than just friendly feelings for Piper now, but Luke didn't know they would be so hard to control.

Luckily, Piper didn't mention anything about their almost-kiss and acted normal. Luke was surprised that she didn't get flustered or quiet like she did when he complimented her, but he was thankful for it.

Blink 182 played softly on the stereo and neither of them said anything. Luke couldn't have asked for anything better.

When they pulled up to her house, Luke walked Piper to the door. He held her hand and slowly dropped it when they couldn't walk any further.

"Again, I'm so sorry about tonight." Luke sighed and Piper giggled.

"It's okay, just maybe next time we hang out we won't go to a party." She smirked.

Luke was thrilled to see her acting like this. She rarely acted playful or even happy and seeing her like this made Luke happy.

He lightly pushed her up against the door, "Next time, huh?"

She laughed and nodded, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him in for a hug.

Luke's stomach did backflips and they stood in their embrace longer than friends normally do.

He slowly let go of her and started to back up, "I'll text you."

"Bye, Luke." Piper fully smiled and Luke tripped over a pebble.

Luckily, she was already inside by the time he stumbled to his arse. He didn't mind that he probably just bruised his tailbone because all he could think about was Piper's smile.

so sorry this was short and kind of a filler but I just wanted to sort of show how much Luke is starting to like Pipe

lol pipe is such a weird nickname but it's kind of cute when Luke says it idk

I want Piper and Luke to get together already (and I hope you guys do too) but it's only chapter 10 and I don't wanna rush things. nothing's gonna happen till at least chapter 15.
