Possible beginning to book 2. Chapter 9: The fifth note.

Deren soon fell into a state of deep depression. He had been living alone in the mysterious forest ever since Oliver, the love of his life, was dead. The image of Oliver struggling for his last breath was burned into his mind. His guilt had been weighing down his heart ever since. He felt like it was his fault. He couldn't take it anymore. Deren took Oliver's noose and ran farther into the mysterious forest.

He stopped running after a while because he ran out of breath. He had been looking for the perfect tree. He leaned up against an old pine tree and slid down to the dirt. He sat in the middle of a small clearing. He closed his eyes and sighed. "I wish Oliver was here..."

He turned his head and noticed a slip of paper pinned to the tree on his right. He stood up and stepped closer to it. He reached out to touch it. When he did, he had the very vision Nora described.

Oliver ran into the Hybridvil forest, tears streaming down his face. "I-...I can't do this anymore..." He cried.

He stepped closer to the glowing portal to Danielsville. He stopped for a moment, staring into the endless abyss of purple and blue. He closed his eyes. "I have to wait... Someone needs me." He said, Dropping his noose and running away from the portal.

Deren read the note:

July 20th, 2018.

It feels like forever since I visited this place. I've made so many memories here. I and my mother used to go here for picnics... and Kai built a treehouse here... I wanted to live here one day. I wanted to raise a family in the woods of Danielsville. It's so peaceful here. That is why I chose this place. The sun is always shining through the trees. It always reminds me that there is hope. But... apparently not for me.

Goodbye, world.

-Oliver Rin-Kurami.

There were 3 other letters on the tree. He touched all of them and everyone was similar to the last. Every time, Oliver would go into the forest and pin another suicide note on the tree. Every time, it ended with "Goodbye, World." But Deren knew for a fact that Oliver did not die by suicide. Deren looked up, the sun blinding him. He saw what Oliver meant. This forest was truly beautiful. Deren's vision cleared. Wait a second...

He noticed something. He started climbing the tree, naturally, because he's an elf. He climbed up to the fourth highest branch. He looked up. There was the treehouse Oliver spoke of in the letter. He climbed up to the latter and entered it. By the door, there was a wooden sign that read, "Kai and Oliver's home (P.s, no girls allowed!)"

Deren smiled for the first time in weeks. He Walked into the house. It was dark and abandoned. It looked like nobody had discovered it for years. There were fallen, dead leaves scattered across the wooden table and floor. Deren ran his fingers across the fresh wood of the table. "Ow!" a shard of wood stabbed his fingertip. He had another vision.

"Come on Oliver, you're slow!" Kai yelled down to Oliver. Oliver and Kai looked like they were about 9 in this vision.

"I'll meet you up there, Kai!" Oliver flew up to the door easily. Hey... there are no holes in his wings...

He entered the house. "I'll vacuum the floor and feed the dog, you cook dinner!" Kai yelled from across the house.

"Ok! I love cooking!"

... Are they playing house?

Deren smiled. He rarely saw Oliver's adorable smile.

"Ow!" Oliver cried. Kai rushed over to him.
