Hello. If you couldn't tell, this is a small tribute to the Netflix original show Voltron: Legendary Defender, which ran from 2016 - 2018 with eight seasons. It was focused on the character Lance McClain, because it had always seemed from the first trailer as if he was meant to be the main character.

Usually I wouldn't write something like this for a fandom (especially one that had caused me emotional distress and whom I wasn't happy with), but I feel as if Voltron has played with some significance in my life. I truly love the characters and the world-building was interesting, it was a series with tons of potential.

As the show went on, I became unhappier and unhappier with it. It went from a fun children's show (first two seasons), to something that was trying too hard to be edgy (Adam's death, Lotor's death/his melting corpse, etc). Plot points were forgotten, things were forced, and overall the writing became lower in quality.

The only reason I did not change the ending of the show in the last chapter, is because I know a small amount of people enjoyed it. And if I was dedicating something to a show, then I should stay true to its plot.

(Plus the fandom is less than desirable.)

But if you want specifics about what I think about something, then you can ask me. I'm not going to rant about it here.

A few good things has come out of Voltron for me.
First off, Hunk Garrett. Enough said, thanks for readi—

Some of my most creative works came out of Voltron, and they're ones I'm still proud of (even if they get worse with time). Fics such as Text Message, Mac and Cheese, and Long Distance are all prides of mine and hold a place close to my heart.

Even though I will continue to write new VLD fanfictions, I feel as if none of them will have the same energy as those written during the prime of the show. (Side note: for those fics I do write from here on, it will probably be very rare I follow the show's later-on plot.)

But, most importantly, I met some of my best and closest friends through Voltron.

Most notable is, of course, the Babs™️ (a group of five consisting of me, -spaceprinces , -sunshinechild , -oneforall , and icyhot- ).

I met them all at varying times, spanning from 5 years ago to 1 year ago. We made our chat on September 11th-12th, 2017 (the exact date is still debated, cough, Lia), and that same night I published Road Trip. Which is still in progress because I'm slow.

Our chat is still going strong after a year, and we plan to be together for much longer. They've helped me through so much, through my lowest points in the past 15 months. We even have friendship bracelets! Courtesy of and handmade by Rowan <3.

I have met countless other friends from this show too, and I love you all the same.

So, TL;DR — Voltron maybe didn't turn out to be the best cartoon known to man (A:TLA will always have that title), but a few spectacular things did come out of it. And I hold some form of gratitude for that.

Voltron: Legendary Defender belongs to Dreamworks.
Anything original belongs to me.
