8:19 AM

Tori stood in the warm shower as the water slid over her body. It was Friday morning and she had a sort of easy day. Not much was happening. She had a meeting about her next album and then brunch with her dad. The usual Friday stuff. "Tori! I'm back!" André yelled from the other side of the door. He had a 6 AM gym session with one of his buddies from the gym he works out at. He was getting back into basketball because a huge reunion season was around the corner. With only a week left before the first game,  and a doctors note, André was getting in as much time on the court as possible.

"In the shower!" Tori yelled over the running water. André quickly took that opportunity to take off his shirt and head into the foggy bathroom. While turning off the faucet, Tori grabbed her towel from the rack and stepped out of the glass shower.

"Morning, babe," André giddily smiled. Tori pecked his lips and finished drying off.

"Good morning," she sweetly replied. "I have a meeting a 9:30 with Scooter, will you be in attendance?" She asked, as she headed into the adjoining closet. André stared at his reflection in the mirror and shrugged.

"If you want me there. I have nothing else today," he admitted. Tori peaked out of the closet to her very attractive husband and shrugged.

"It's up to you, babe. Just know that I'm leaving at 9," she announced, before getting ready. André glanced at her with a nod before turning on the shower head and stripping out of his gym clothes.

8:54 AM

Right on time, Tori's coffee fully dropped from her Keurig and allowed her to finish her morning routine. "Babe! I'm almost ready to go!" Tori yelled through the house. As she grabbed her cream and sugar, André came down the steps in joggers and a Faith t-shirt from some Instagram shop he'd found late one night.

"I'm here. I'm here," he said. Quickly, he threw together a protein shake and met his wife at their garage door. The two hopped into Tori's Audi A7, and started their day.

10:16 AM

"I think we've got all we need. I'll have Yohandra book your flight and I will see you in Dallas," Scooter said, closing the meeting. André sat behind Tori, mad as all get out, but glad to hear that the meeting was done. He watched Tori shake her managers hand and pack up her stuff as the producer left out.

"Dallas, huh? So are you just gonna meet me in New York on the last day and then fly home together after the game?" André asked. Tori's mind went blank for a second, unsure of why his voice was filled with such disappointment.

"New York?" She asked. The look on André's face told her everything she need to know and more. "Crap! New York. The reunion. I'm so sorry, babe. I completely spaced. Why didn't you say anything?" Tori asked, strapping her bag to her back and walking out of the door André had held open.

"I thought you'd remember the most important trip of my career," he snarled. Tori bit her lip and silently trailed him to her car. She hated to make André mad, but what could she say? She'd completely forgotten.

10:29 AM

The couple traveled in silence back home where André retreated to his man cave and Tori headed to the messy bedroom she'd been meaning to clean for days. Slowly, she dropped her heels in the shoe basket next to the second closet and glanced around the room. Dirty clothes covered the floors. Unfinished songs and journals cluttered Tori's side, while basketball shoes and ankle braces lined André's. Looking at it all at once overwhelmed Tori, causing her to block out the huge master room and guide herself to her study station. She opened the window in front of the table and flipped to Romans. "Okay, God. What are you saying?" Tori asked. Her eyes immediately headed to Romans 8:28. A passage she'd read a couple of times, but not too recently. "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose," Tori read. The scripture spoke directly to her fighting spirit. The spirit in her that was at war with the rest of her. She wasn't only anxious about having a child, but also producing another album. She was glad that the first gospel album went well. But, she was absolutely nervous that the second wouldn't take as kindly. Somewhere in her mind she though that last years album was a fluke. And while that wasn't true, her fighting spirit wanted to hold onto the that notion.
