Ok so here is the thing about this chapter, it'll mess with one little timeline thing at the very beginning(beginning as in, in a few sentences). So for this you are just gonna have to pretend that all of the stuff with Kilgarah and Balinor already happened(and this notification could be useless if I already messed with that part of the timeline and just don't remember.)

Merlin and Freya bid their goodbyes with many thanks on both sides.

They rode aimlessly for days with no goal in mind. Until Merlin decided that he ought to call on Kilgarah for some advice on where to settle down.

They found a clearing large enough for the Great Dragon to be comfortable, and once they were positive they were alone Merlin called on his spiritual brother.

They explained their situation to Kilgarah and he gave the almost straightforward answer he had ever given.

"Well Young Warlock you can never fully abandon your destiny but if for now you have to be separated from Camelot, that is fine. Now for a place you can go to be yourself that is not a Druid Camp. There might be a place, a kingdom called Venecan."

The Great Dragon then explained that Venecan was a hidden magical kingdom. The lovers both agreed that that sounded like it would work if they could find it. So as the Last Dragonlord he asked Kilgarah to bring them to this kingdom.

Merlin and Freya both got on Kilgarah's back, with only a little resistance from him, and they began to fly to Venecan.

This journey took them a day at Kilgarah's top speed.

He dropped them off at a stone wall and told Merlin a spell to speak once the dragon had left, he said it would show them the way.

Once the Great Dragon was out of sight, Merlin took Freya's hand and spoke the spell.

After Merlin had spoken the spell, the stone wall began to shine a bright golden light, and the wall turned into a beautiful, flowered, golden gate. As if on cue, two elegantly dressed guards appeared in front of the gate demanding to know who they were, and what business they had here.

"Well, we are here to seek refuge from a magic-hating world," Merlin said with confidence that would baffle Arthur.

"Well since you spoke the spell and the gate opened, it is obvious you have a magical talent. We also saw the Great Dragon bring you here, meaning one of you is the Last Dragonlord we have heard so much about. But how do we suppose we know whether or not you are in alliance with some of the...less pleasant magicians around the kingdoms?"

"Ummmmmmmm I'm not really sure how to prove that to you sir, perhaps you could give us some guidance," said of course, Merlin, as Freya did not wish to speak.

Just when the guards were about to say, a young woman appeared behind them. She wore an elegant dress, that was so beautifully made that it left no doubts in anyone that she was royalty, also the fact that the guards bowed as soon as she appeared.

She wore an off-shoulder white and gold dress that went down to her ankles. She had a silver cloak that flowed mesmerizingly on the ground behind her, the cloak shone with what the couple who loves flowers could sense was magic. Her waist-length, golden hair  was perfectly wavy and had a half braid. Upon her head, in place of the extravagant crowns you would see in Camelot, she wore a simple crown of flowers that were magically kept alive.

The two lovers immediately felt respect towards her, and quickly after felt safe in her presence.

And with the silkiest, brightest voice you can imagine, she spoke, "Why, excuse the knights, they are just doing their job. Not stopping to realize who we are in the presence of." She then looked Merlin calmly in the eye and said with full respect and awe, "hello, Emrys."

Hearing these words the guards both faced Merlin and bowed to him, baffling both of the overwhelmed travelers.

"Well come on," said the stunning stranger, "we don't want the great Emrys to be left waiting now do we? I'll take them to my father." Realizing she had forgotten something, "Oh! Where are my manners? I am princess Anais, and for you Emrys and Lady of the Lake, there will most definitely be a feast in your honor. For now, though, you shall meet my father, King Malin of Venecan"

She then grabbed both of their hands and disappeared, taking them with her. Straight into the kingdom they new very little about, and had no idea what to expect from the king.
