This is wrong but I can't help but feel like
There ain't nothing more right babe
Misty morning comes again and I can't
Help but wish I could see your face
And I knew from the first note played
I'd be breaking all my rules to see you
You smile that beautiful smile and
All the girls in the front row scream your name
So dim that spotlight, tell me things like
I can't take my eyes off of you
I'm no one special, just another
Wide eyed girl who's desperately in love with you
Give me a photograph to hang on my wall, superstar
Good morning loneliness, comes around when I'm not
Dreaming about you
When my world wakes up today
You'll be in another town
And I knew when I saw your face, I'd be
Counting down the ways to see you
You smile that beautiful smile and
All the girls in the front row scream your name
So dim that spotlight, tell me things like
I can't take my eyes off of you
I'm no one special, just another
Wide eyed girl who's desperately in love with you
Give me a photograph to hang on my wall, superstar
You played in bars, you play guitar
I'm invisible and everyone knows who you are
And you'll never see, sing me to sleep
Every night from the radio
So dim that spotlight, tell me things like
I can't take my eyes off of you
I'm no one special, just another
Wide eyed girl who's desperately in love with you
Give me a photograph to hang on my wall, superstar
Sweet, sweet superstar, superstar
After I finished I was just standing there and everyone was clapping and cheering and obviously all my friends being they’re crazy selves gave me a standing ovation but what I hadn’t thought would happen was everyone else followed my friends the entire audience was giving me a standing ovation. I was probably standing up there with the biggest smile on my face, it felt amazing.
“Well I think we have a winner, the winner of the class of 2015 talent show is Stacey Powell!” Julissa said as she raised my hand in accomplishment.
“Wow.” I said after I was handed the trophy. “Congratulations Stacey.” The teacher in charge told me. “And cut.” Cassia said as she shut off her camera. “You get all of that?” Jake asked. “Jake, what are you doing here?” Cassia asked as she gave him a quick hug.
“Stacey invited me I was surprised when she did though I mean we haven’t talked since she said happy birthday to me freshman year.” Jake said.
“Well she’ll be happy to see you.” Cassia said as they went back to cheering from me. “Ah you won Stacey, that’s so exciting!” Mom said as she turned around to face me from the passenger seat while Dad was just smiling to himself in the driver seat.
I would’ve had Arianna take me home but her Mom had an emergency at work so she had to drive home her sisters and little brother and also babysit them until her Mom got back or until bed time.
“It’s just a trophy, nothing too big.” I said trying to tone down the subject of me winning. I mean of course I would try because if there’s one thing I hate more than shopping its being my parents’ center of attention.
“Are you kidding you won, do you know how popular that’s going to make you at school tomorrow.” Stephanie said. “I don’t know a little popular I guess.” I said as my phone went off. “Who is it?” Stephanie asked.
“Jake,” I said as I opened up the text message.
