Freakish (Lauren/you)

Chapter 1

A/n: hey guys so this is the first official chapter of freakish, there are quite a few characters in this book, hopefully it's not too confusing. Also this book is written in 3rd person so it's basically from the narrators point of view. I hope you enjoy the first chapter!

"Alright everyone, sit down and put your phones in this bucket." Mr Chad appointed the students. As soon as Mr Chad was about to leave the detention room a girl walked in. She was average in height, had very dark brown/black hair and she looked very friendly. "Young lady, what's your name?" Mr Chad questioned her. "Y/n, Y/n y/ln. I'm here because I have detention" she replied in a soft, yet husky voice. "Well Y/n...your name is not on the detention list" Mr Chad spoke across the classroom. Y/n leaned towards Mr Chad and whispered, "I'm here to see Lauren." Mr Chad realised what Y/n meant, then told her to sit down. "I will be back, stay seated and do not talk!"

A tall girl with blonde hair, a mean face and a muscular body named Dinah asked    Y/n in a threatening voice. "So what are you in here for?" "Oh umm...I...I failed a test" y/n stuttered looking worried. "Well I'm in here for giving someone a polly beatdown, on the sidewalk". Y/n turned around "oh wow...a bully" Y/n mumbled to herself sarcastically.

"If you wanna say something, say it to my face!" Dinah yelled "Hey...I...I'm not looking for any trouble" Y/n said with fear and guilt. "Oh are you scared, you gonna go cry to your mommy" Dinah said acrimoniously, while her friend Camila giggled in the background. Camila is an average height girl with brunette hair and beautiful brown eyes. "If my mother was still alive!" Y/n said sarcastically. "Oh umm...I'm sorry I didn't mean it, well I did but not like that" Dinah apologised, taken aback.

After a few seconds of silence, a girl with black hair and beautiful bright green eyes entered the room, she wore dark clothes and her name was Lauren. "you idiot, her mum's not dead, she works at the chemical plant. She's just lying!" Lauren rolled her eyes. "What, you think that's funny lying about your 'dead' mother?" barked Dinah. Y/n got very scared "well I...I thought it would be a bit funny" y/n stuttered

"oh yeah. I know that I find it funny every time I think of my dead mother" Lauren said sarcastically. "Oh I'm very sorry I didn't know that your mum was dead, I'm..." y/n said before she got cut off by Lauren "my mum's not really dead, but you see how that's not funny!?" Lauren rolled her eyes.

Mr Chad entered the room. He gave all the students scrapers and rakes while leading them to the school football ground that was in an atrocious condition. "Alright guys get cleaning! I want all the gum scraped of the bleachers and all the leaves off of the football ground!" Mr Chad yelled before he went to sit on the bench.

"Guys I want to apologise for what I happened earlier I wasn't trying to be rude or anything like that" y/n explained feeling guiltily. "It's fine" Camila said. "Hey stop talking!" Mr Chad shouted from across the pitch. "Tyler! Detention isn't for relaxing get up and start cleaning!" Mr chad shouted, at a young boy with fair complexion and brown hair "ugh" he huffed while standing up and grabbing a rake.

A few minutes into cleaning and the danger alarm went off. All the students started to panic. "Alright no one panic. Everyone inside now!" Mr Chad shouted alarmingly. "I bet someone's just pranking us," Dinah rolled her eyes. "No it's not a prank; there's been a leak at the chemical plant! Everyone needs to get inside...NOW!" a short girl with blonde hair, named Ally said, while running onto the school football ground. "We're not joking, you need to get inside now!" vociferated Alessia; Y/n's younger sister, as she followed Ally onto the football ground.
