Freakish (Lauren/you)

Chapter 2

A/n: Hello little nuggets! This is the second chapter to Freakish, I hope you enjoy it.

"Sir, according to The Times newspaper there has been a chemical leak, it's rapidly getting bad, whoever inhales the air outside will be affected, very badly," a tall chocolate skinned girl named Normani spoke. "Yeah sir, on my phone it says the exact same thing, it also says to stay inside and close all windows and doors" Shawn added; the school's football team, captain. "I think we should cover all the gaps in the door with wet towels, to prevent the chemicals coming into the school" A tall, tanned, brunette named Kelsey said.

"Nah man I'm outa here" a boy named Joey panicked, while running off outside "No! Listen kids we need to stay inside...god knows what could happen out there!" Mr Chad yelled, not knowing what to do "you could stay in here if you want to, I ain't stopping you but I'm getting outa here!" "Yeah he's right. You're the only teacher in here with us, all the teachers are gone, why would we stay for? We're all gonna die in here" another student shouted before leaving, then a group of students ran out following him. By now there were only a few people inside the school, who thought that staying inside, was the right thing to do.

"Camila you get a bucket and fill it up with water. Lauren, Y/n, Shawn, and Dinah, I want you guys to collect all the towels from the genitors room. Dinah you get the towels from the genitor's room on this floor. Lauren, Y/n you go upstairs, and shawn you go to the top floor." Mr Chad commanded them. "When you've got all the towels, soak them up in water and cover all the gaps between the doors!" "Tyler and Kelsey make sure all the windows and doors are shut, Ally and Normani I want you too to get all the plastic sheets from the art room" Mr Chad instructed all the student while tying to put on a calm facade.

Alessia; y/n's younger sister ran up to Y/n while she was going upstairs with Lauren "Y/n do you think mum and dad are ok?" Alessia questioned, with tears in her eyes "hey...hey they'll be ok, don't think about that stuff, plus it's Sunday today, mum and dad don't go to work today." Y/n comforted Alessia. "Go on now, go back to Mr Chad and follow his instructions!" Y/n said before kissing her sister on the forehead.

"Hey...umm I'm sure your parents are ok...don't worry they'll be fine" Lauren said, trying to reassure y/n "oh...thanks. I'm just worried because on the weekend they end up going to work sometimes. I just hope they didn't go today" y/n mumbled, tying not to think of any bad scenarios. Lauren and Y/n got to the genitors room and collected all the towels.

All the students soaked up the towels in water, then covered all the gaps in the doors.
"Alright now that the gaps are covered, boys can you tape the plastic sheets to the doors" the boys then taped the plastic sheets to doors the best they could.

"Ok now everyone come on. Follow me downstairs to the panic room" Mr Chad commanded the students. All students followed Mr Chad to the panic room which was in the basement. The panic room was a long dark room with only three dim lights. There were bunkbeds lined up against the walls. There was a separate small room with food supplies, first aid equipment, safety equipment and clothes.

"Alright kids pick your beds and sit on them so I know who is sleeping where" Mr Chad shouted "what! we're gonna be here over night!?" Camila asked in a high pitched voice, after all she was shocked and worried "most likely...I mean the air can't clear up just like that" Mr Chad replied to Camila. "Y/n can I sleep with you?" Alessia asked her sister, trying to hide the fear that was building up inside her " of course you can, Lessi, come on" up/n said patting the spot next tower, ushering Alessia to sit next to her "Hey umm...Y/n do you mind if I sleep on the bed next to you? It's just that I don't really want to sleep next to the other guys I find them really annoying and weird" Lauren made an excuse, so she could sleep next to y/n "yeah sure" Y/n chuckled.

"Shawn I'm sleeping on the bunk next to you!" Camila said excitedly "Camila I'm sleeping on the top bunk!" Dinah called dibs (a/n: or shotgun...I don't know what you call it) "you guys are so weird you're getting excited when we are literally in the middle of a crisis" Kelsey chuckled. "Alright have you chosen where you're all sleeping?" asked Mr Chad "yes sir" they replied in unison "umm...alright, I will take this bed" Mr Chad said while sitting on the bed closest to the door. "This is like, the biggest sleep over I've ever been to" Camila chirped excitedly while Dinah rolled her eyes "mum mum never lets me have sleepovers" a young 16 year old boy named Aidan added, while the other student chuckled.

1 hour had passed and all the students had been talking "Ugh sir I'm hungry" Camila whined "when are you not hungry, Camila?" Dinah asked rhetorically. "Ok kids...raise your hands if you are hungry" Mr Chad said. All the students raised their hands. "OK. Y/n, Shawn, Normani and Ally go and get some food from the canteen. Make sure there is enough for everyone and bring it down" Mr Chad commanded the elder students.

As Y/n, Shawn, Normani and Ally were walking to the canteen they heard a bang on the schools main door. From behind the sheets you could see that the clear blue sky had been replaced by misty green fog. Shawn ran to the door and pulled the plastic sheets back, enough to see Joey, the boy who had ran out earlier. "Hey it's Joey" Shawn said while unlocking the door and pulling it open for him "Joey what happened out there?" Shawn asked, concern laced in his voice, while the others looked very worried "Joey are you ok, what happened?" Ally asked beginning to worry "all...dead!" Joey whispered before he collapsed to the floor.

Shawn looked shocked "Y/n, Normani, take Joey downstairs now! I'm just going to close up the gaps between the door, Ally make your way to the canteen I'm coming" Shawn instructed. Shawn was just about to lock the door when another student, Lydia crawled in. He quickly closed the door behind her and called out to Ally "Ally come back, help me take Lydia downstairs." Ally came running and helped Shawn take Lydia to Mr Chad.
