Chapter 53

Maya's pov

OK all I need is to get through this dance without bursting into tears. Nik wiped my tear away and held my hand to the dance floor. I could see elena walking out of the room and to Damon. I could feel anger boil inside of me but the feeling that I had Nik by my side it cooled me down. The music started and I took a deep breath before the music started and we began to waltz.

" you look beautiful maya" Nik said to me

" you don't look to bad yourself" I smiled and he spun me around just like every other partner did.

We didn't speak much in the dance but just knowing that he wasn't going to leave and how he looked at me that's everything I needed and wanted. The way he looked at me was like I was the only person in the world and I love that feeling.

My eyes stung with tears thinking about Stefan and Damon but the more I thought about it the more I hated them. They should of stood by me right? And I know I have Nik, rebekah, elijah and I guess kol.

I Looked around the dance floor and I saw kol and bonnie dancing and laughing. Bonnie seemed happy as did kol which all that mattered to me.

The dance ended and and Nik board and I laughed.
" thank you for the dance my lady" he smirked

" your welcome" I laughed and I saw elena out of the corner and she was heading to talk to elijah. Waiters came out and gave champagne to everybody and Nik grabbed two glasses and handed one to me and I just gave him a small smile.

I used my hearing to hear elena and elijah's conversation.

" so elena, what did my mother wish to speak to you about" elijah asked giving a glass to her

" she just wanted to apologise for having me killed" elena said

" so is it true? My mother has forgiven klaus?" elijah asked and this time I was listening to her heartbeat and it was beating fast.
Really fast.

" yes she has" elena lied

" I would like to thank you everyone for this spectacular evening and ask you to raise your glasses for this reunion. Cheers" Esther smiled

" cheers" everyone said in the room

Everyone drank there champagne including me and then I had to go talk to elena.

She was by the entrance when I stopped her.

" what did Esther really say" I demanded

" what do you mean" she lied

" don't play stupid elena you have been lying to me all day and do you know what I'm sick of secrets. So just tell me" I said firmly

" there's nothing you can do to stop it now and you can stop her or she'll kill you" elena said with no emotion in her tone

" what?!? Elena what are you talking about" I asked

" the wine that they drank it connects them all up so if one goes all of them goes and" she didn't have to finish her sentence because I was too angry

" how could you? I thought you were happy for me you told me you were happy for me" I shouted at her

" we're friends I didn't want to hurt you" elena said

" so you just kill the father of my child like that's not going to upset me. You say we're friends but we are not friends" I told her

" yes we are" she stepped closer

" yeah well with friends like you who needs friends" I told her and then I just walked away

All of a sudden I heard a loud noise and I looked outside and Damon and kol were fighting. Just when I thought this night couldn't get any worse.

I sped to them which is super hard in a dress and heels by the way and I shoved them off of each other. Damon backed off but kol was still going for it.

By this time everybody was outside and bonnie was.

" kol look bonnie is here do you really think if you kill Damon one of her friends she'll even look at you" I held him back and he looked up at bonnie who was just staring at him wanting to do the right thing.

He calmed down and walked off and I looked at damon and he looked at me but just walked off. Matt came down hurt and I hugged him and he hugged me back

" I'm sorry about kol I really am. I'll talk to him" I said

" if anybody can change a person it's you. I heard about the baby" he said

" did Damon and Stefan just broadcast it to everybody" I snarled

" look just know if you need anything just come to me whether it's to do with the baby or not" matt said

" thanks matt" I smiled and went to kol
