Chapter 9

Maya's pov

It's the day of the sacrifice and I know now that bonnie is not dead. I woke up and immediately looked at the sunshine it was beautiful. I knew today I had to save my friend but I don't know what lengths to do so. I took a shower and put on some jeans and a baggy grey top on top of it I put my black leather jacket and I put some ankle boots on and went downstairs there was elijah.

" oh my god elijah" I smiled and I hugged him and he hugged back

" it's been a long time maya" he smiled

" yeah it has" I grinned

" wait you know him too" Stefan asked

" like I said I knew elijah and rebekah too klaus sister. How's Damon doing about the whole sacrifice thing" I asked

" he was here a couple of minutes ago he was in a foul mood" elijah told me

" as well as can be expected" I said to myself more than them.

" so when we kill klaus" Stefan was talking and when he said I don't inside of me just screamed " what are you going to do? Just leave?"

" I have no reason to stay here" he said

" fine" Stefan said and both elena and Stefan went off.

And it was just me and elijah and I didn't feel like talking to him. I turned to the door.

" you still have hope for him don't you" elijah asked and I stopped and turned around

" no I don't" I told him and he just smiled

" do not lie to me maya I have known you for a while now I know when you are lying. You still believe there is good inside of you you still believe the man you said you loved too is still in here" he told me

" no I don't"

" how are you with his death? Nobody has took your feelings into account they all think your aboard with this but you are not. You don't want him to die" he said

" elijah you know I love you like family and rebekah too but I cant talk about this right now and even if I wasnt OK with it klaus would still sacrifice elena and they would still have to kill him because that's what kind I'd guy he is" I told him and then I heard screaming and I died upstairs to check and I saw Damon feeding elena her blood and then Stefan shoved him off her. They were fighting and I sped in between them.

" hey we're supposed to be a family... Stop!" I told him

" maya get out of my way" Damon ordered viciously

" no" I told him firmly

" fine" he stuck a steak in my lungs

"ah" I moaned in pain.

Damon sped away and Stefan gave me two bloodbags and I drank them.

I decided I needed to go to the bar and have a drink after that whole scenario.

" can I have a bourbon please" I asked matt

" sure" he smiled and gave it to me.

" why so glum love?" klaus asked me

" klaus" I managed to say

" in the flesh" he smirked sitting down next to me.

" how has my wife been" he asked smirking

" we're not married anymore" I told him

" I don't remember signing any divorce papers" he said

" I don't need divorce papers to say I don't want to look at you." I took a sip of my bourbon

" don't be like that love I was hoping we could catch up it has been over 50 years I hear your applying to art school as soon as you graduate" he told me

" yeah I am"

" why did you still keep that sketch book" he asked

" why do you still wear your wedding ring on" I asked

" why do you still wear yours" he quickly asked after me " it's tied around your neck I noticed it when I was in your friend's body but I wasn't sure then I saw it again when you were kissing that quarterback"

" somebody jealous?" I smiled

" why do you still wear it" he asked " you know very well why I still wear it why do you?"

" keeps men like you away from me" I told him

" devishly handsome?" he asked

" is there a reason you stopped by for a chat" I asked because I was getting annoyed

" I just wanted to tell you that the sacrifice will happen tonight I have my werewolf and my vampire. So if you don't want to hurt a single head on that pretty head of yours i suggest you stay far away from it" he told me and I got up and got closer to him

" you should know by now nik I dont listen to you" I said to him and I walked away
