8. Minokai

All these girls. I feel like a teddy bear at the fair. This is just plain weird and awkward. Plus all this damn homework!

One girl caught my eye, she had blond hair and blue eyes. She kinda reminded me of Bubbles. I guess when I was twelve, I kinda had a thing for Bubbles but, I never told her. Or anyone.

Butch and Brick stayed after school. I of course, had no friends. Therefore, no life. I really wonder why we came back here, like what reason?

I don't know what but something told me "Go to the park."

There was absolutely nothing there for me to do.

Miyako POV

"Onee-Sama!" Hailee cheered "Bye Kuri-Chan! Bye Ken-san!"

"Bye," they waved back.

"What about Shou?" I asked

"I'm not his friend anymore!" she yelled "Onee-Chan, can we get ice cream?"

I agreed. It bothered me some though. We all knew Ken liked Kuriko, but we kinda had the feeling Shou and Hailee liked each other.

Weird enough, I'm pretty sure some guy was looking at us.

I got Hailee a mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was her favorite. When I turned around a man had picked her up and ran.

"Hailee!"

"Miyako!"

Boomer/ Minokai POV

It was the same girl yelling with police men behind her.

"Hailee!" she yelled

I tripped the man and he dropped the girl. I uses my belt to tie him up.

When I went to the girl, she flinched.

I smiled "I won't hurt you."

The cops went for the man, I went for the girl.

"Miyako!" Hailee cheered

"Oh Hailee!" she hugged her. "Thank you so much. I-I don't what I would do without her. She's all I have left."

"No problem," I smiled "I'm Minokai, we go to school together."

" Right, I'm Miyako," she smiled. News Reporters everywhere tried talking to me. Townsville saw me as a hero for once. It felt good. No wonder the Puffs like it so much.

"Are you okay, carrying Hailee?" Miyako asked

"Oh, yeah. She's light for an eleven year old." I smiled "Is she your step-sister, cause you look nothing alike."

"Not exactly," she replied

Miyako POV

Flashback 1 year ago

"It's so hot!" I whined.

"I know," Momoko sighed. The sky actually got cloudy, so we said our goodbyes. I heard a noise from the alley and thought it was kitten. It was a little girl. She had a blue dress and big hat covering her face.

"Name-Chan!" she ran to me. (pronounced Na-may)

I didn't know who Name was but I walked the girl to my house.

"This place is huge!" she looked around. My grandmother wasn't home so it was me and her. She was dirty so I had to give her a bath. Under that hat was LONG brown hair. Past floor length. And she had the prettiest hazel eyes.

"Can you tell me your name?" I asked

"H.A.I.L.E.E."

"Hailee, is your name?" I asked and she nodded. Next I gave her one of my old dresses.

"There really pretty Name-Chan!" she cheered trying it on. She looked adorable. Next I put her hair in a long braid. But it was bothering me, she called me Name-Chan.

"Hailee, who is Name-Chan?" I asked

"Your not Kaname-Chan?" she asked starting to cry.

"No, I'm sorry," I said

"I want Kaname! Kaname! Kaname-Chan!"

After three weeks no one claimed a lost child and soon she would be property of the state. But, I've never had a little sister and I didn't want to give her up.

Finally a man came for her. Hailee hid behind with a scared look on her face.

"Kaname, how could you run away from home," he reached his hand out and she flinched. Then, he had to grab her.

"AAAHHHHH!" she yelled "Miyako! Miyako-Chan don't let him take me! I don't wanna go back!" The police came and I tried to calm Hailee's yelling.

"That is Kaname and my daughter." he argued

"She was in an alley when I found her and she said her name was Hailee." I snapped

"And who told you to cut her hair," the man glared at me.

"It was a safety hazard, if I didn't she could of gotten hurt."

"She isn't your child!"

"I'm not sure she's yours either. Do you have any birth papers?"

" Do you?!"

"I found her!"

"And was there at her birth!"

"Do you have anything to legalize that?! For all we know you could of kidnapped her!"

"Why you. Why are you so interested in a little brat!" he hissed

"Cause she's a sweet little girl," I shot back. They took all three of us in for questioning. The man was arrested for illegal testing on children. Hailee's name turned out to be Hailee Alice Sosuke. Kaname Sosuke was her sister that disappeared looking to her. The picture proved me and her looked alike. Except she was a dirty blond and I guess in the dark my eyes did look hazel like hers.

Only a week later was Hailee signed under my name as Hailee Alice Gotokuji.

Flashback

" That must of been rough for a kid," Minokai said

"I didn't want to lose her," I said. Minokai carried Hailee to her room.

"Nice to see my Granddaughter doing something other than watching the house." Grandma smiled making me blush in embarrassment.

"Thanks again," I smiled on the porch.

"No problem," he smiled. Then I felt two warm lips pressed against mine and his hand to the side of my face.

"B-Bye Minokai-Kun," I stammered walking in the house just to scream in the inside.

Boomer/Minokai POV

Oh God. Yes! Yes!When I got home I ignored Brick and Butch cheers and went straight to my room.
