"Look guys I'm only going to go out with this guy once!"  I say walking into the room.

"But what if he likes you and asks you out again?"  Elena said.  Well that could happen.  I don't want to seem like a complete bitch and turn him down.  After all I am the one who asked him out.  And what if it actually turns out I do like him.  All i know about him is that he does art work.  I've seen him carry some in and out of his apartment.

"I don't know.  We'll see won't we?"

"You have to look nice Alex!  None of your usual stuff.  Straighten your hair and wear some heels for god sake."  Sabrina said knowing that my usual attire isn't very nice.  It usually consists of a plain t-shirt, or a band tee, skinny jeans or basketball shorts, and my lime green converse.  As for my hair it is naturally wavy and naturally dirty blonde.

"But I don't want him to see me as someone I'm not Sab."

"I thought you didn't even like the guy?!"  She threw her arms up in the air.  "He doesn't seem like the type of guy who would have tons of girlfriends.  Why can't you make him feel special and dress up nice and pretty?"

"Well I've seen his attire before and he doesn't  dress to nicely either."  I cross my arms.

"Okay Alex.  I know you love your current wardrobe. So maybe you can see if you can put something together thats still you but not too over the edge."  Elena finally said.  She always knew how to solve a problem and have everyone be okay with it.  Elena was always a better friend then Sabrina.  Sabrina never really did like my lifestyle.

"Okay.  I could try that.  Thanks Elena."  She gives me a big smile.

"Yeah I guess that could work."   Sabrina said rather dull.  If she wanted to impress Gerard with her looks and good sense of fashion why doesn't she go out with him.  She had just broke up with her boyfriend and has been trying to get me to date for about 4 weeks.

"It's getting late.  I should get home."  Sabrina picked up her bag, waved good bye and walked out the door.

"Wow."  Is all I could say.

"Yeah Sabrina has been changing a lot.  She's starting to get sucked into this pop culture world you know."  Oh yes I know.  I nodded my head and fell on the couch.  Elena was sitting on a bean bag in front of the TV.

"So Alex do you think you could actually like Ger-"  I turned around to see Gerard inside my apartment.

"Umm.  Your friend said you wanted me to come over and she said I didn't have to knock."  He closed the door and stepped further in.  Sabrina!  That bitch.  I didn't want to make a scene and make Gerard think I'm crazy.

"Oh yeah.  Sit down we were just chatting."  I moved over so he could sit next to me.  He sat down and crossed his legs.  I felt totally awkward.  Especially because I was in my pajamas.  I cleared my throat.

"So Gerard how's it going?"  I really didn't know another way to start a conversation.

"Good I guess.  I've been going to collage.  Thats pretty much it."  I looked at him in the eyes while he was talking.  Those fucking gorgeous eyes.

"Do you have anyone special in your life Gerard?"  Elena practically yelled.  Wow, great way to make him feel uncomfortable.

"No.  If I did would I say yes to Alex's date?"  He looked at me.  I smiled, I could feel my face getting hot.

"Aww Alex!!!"  Elena yelled yet again.

"Shut up."  I looked at her sternly.  She kept laughing.  I got up from from the couch not caring that when I did my short probably went up because they were short.  I grabbed a pillow from the couch and hit her with it.   I leaned down still not caring about my shorts, and whispered in Elena's ear.

"Your making me look bad."  She shot up and started laughing again, but calmed down seconds later.  I swear that girl had a laughing problem.  I wasn't a girl who laughed a lot.  I just made other people laugh, I would just sit there and smile.

I sat back down.  "Sorry about that Gerard.  It needed to be done."

He cleared his throat.  "Huh?  Oh yeah right.  Um.  why did you want me to come over?"

Well because my stupid friend took revenge on me and told you to come.  "I was wondering what time you were free to go out."  Lies.

"Well I'm free tomorrow night at like 7?"

"Yeah 7.  Okay that's good."

"I'll come get you okay?"  His voice was so sweet.

"Yeah alright."

"Okay well I should get going.  I have art homework to finish."  Gerard got up from the couch.  What am I suppose to do?  Shake his hand again?

"Okay."  I got up and walked him too his apartment door.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow Gerard."

"Yeah.  See you tomorrow."  He just stood there, looking at me.  He got closer and was looking at my lips surely not my eyes.  I knew where this was going so I started to close my eyes, but Gerard turned away and walked into his room and closed the door.

Wow.  These next few days are going to be interesting and awkward.  This man is certainly  different.    I remember a few months ago when I had just moved into this apartment complex I was walking down the hallway and saw someone passed out on the floor.   His greasy hair was covering his face.    He was wrapped up in his back jacket.  I just couldn't leave him here.

I shook him trying to wake him up.  Then turned him over onto his back and removed his hair from his face.  He was drunk.  Trying to wake him up again I patted his face.  It wasn't helping so I just slapped him across the face.  Now that did the trick.  He opened his eyes in shock and was breathing heavily.  I would have been surprised too if I woke up to a stranger on top of you.  But then his eyes turned soft and watery.  He grabbed me and pulled me into a hug.  He was crying and I couldn't help not feeling bad for him.

"Take care of yourself."  He whispered.  I didn't say anything.  Surely he wasn't going to remember anything of this night because he was very intoxicated.
