I wake up feeling fresh and ready for the day to come. I have that weird feeling in my stomach. You know the one you get when you're about to start high school? Well if you don't know what that feeling is like, well for me it was almost like I was about to get ready for slaughter. I've been on many dates before just not with the right guy. I'm not saying this Gerard is the right guy, but me and him do share a lot in common. For example he loves to draw, I've been into art since I was little. I never really knew I had a talent until about 8th grade though. Also I'm pretty sure I've heard Iron Maiden and The Bronx songs coming from his apartment… now thats my kind of music.
I get up out of bed and make some coffee and cereal. I don't have work today so thats a relief. I work at a local school. I go in about 3 days a week and give guitar/piano/drum/or singing lessons. It pays a pretty good amount of money so I'm not complaining. Plus I love helping kids fufill their dreams in becoming a better musician.
I yawn and think about my day today. I am not going to confront Sabrina today, and Elena has work. But their is someone that is my best friend ever. Well when I was younger she was my best friend. Priscilla. My bigger sister. She lives not to far from me in a nearby apartment.
I put on a tank top, a light sweater, and some blue jeans. I slip on my Toms also. I grab my bike. I don't usually travel far so I see no need to have a car. Plus its saving money and helping the earth.
I ride down the busy street, swearving in and out of cars, almost getting hit by a city bus, but I make it to Priscillas apartment in about 8 minutes. I lock up my bike out side on the bike rack. I get out my phone to call my sister to give her a heads up that I'm coming over. You know just in case shes not in her underwear or not wearing any.
"Hey Priss I'm coming up to your room right now." I said as I was walking up the stairs.
"Oh okay. I'll be ready."
"K bye." I hang up. I walk down the hallway to her room at the end of the hallway. Just as I was about to open the door it opened and appeared my sister.
"Alex!" My sister came and hugged me. "So whats up?" She made a gesture to come in. I took a seat on her couch and crossed my legs.
"I need help."
"Whats the matter?" She sat next to me.
"I'm going out tonight and i need to barrow some clothes." I looked at her with pleading eyes.
"Ohhh going out with a guy?" She smirked.
"No I'm going out with an 80 year old lady." I joked. Priscilla got up and walked to her room.
"Where are you going for this date?" She yelled.
"Umm a coffee shop." Priscilla poked her head out of the door.
"Really a coffee shop?"
"Yes. And theres another thing. Elena dared me go go out with him. But he is kinda cute." I slouched and crossed my arms.
"Do I know this guy?"
"He lives across the hall from me." I know that she has seen Gerard before because she always used to make fun of his hair whenever we saw him.
"Greasy haired boy? Oh come on you can do better." Priscilla came out and tossed some clothes at me. A skirt with flowers, tights, jean jacket and a black shirt. Now that I actually look at it, this could actually work.
"You can wear your converse with that." Alright. I'm okay with wearing my beat up converse that my friends wrote on and wrecked.
"Now you can straighten your hair here. And I want to do your make up!" My hair is going to take forever to straighten. I have a lot of blonde hair.
I looked at myself in the mirror. I actually looked okay. My sister went with black eye liner, mascara, and some skin color eye shadow that made my eyelids sparkle. My hair was straightened, making my layers look awesome. I always have my hair naturally down and wavy. My bangs stayed straight most of the time though.
"Its 5:30 Alex. Get dressed and I'll drive you to your apartment. I'll keep your bike safe here." I walked into the bathroom to change and make the final finishing touches. This outfit actually didn't make me look to girly. I still looked like myself. I like to look nice because people complement me and make me feel good about myself. I just hope Gerard doesn't think I went over the top.
"So how do I look?" I spin in circles for Priscilla to see. "You look like your gonna get some from that artist tonight!"
"Ohh shush! I am not that shallow." I said laughing.
"Well… I better get you home."
My sister first had to stop by the grocery store. I went in with her. And when I came out I had about 4 numbers written on my hand. Well. I should start dressing up more often. Some people might look at me and say that this isn't a nice outfit and that it's a casual one, but for me it isn't. A casual outfit for me is skinny jeans and a shirt. I grew up not caring what anyone thought of me, so I didn't follow any of the trends because in my eyes they were just plain stupid.
I got to my apartment at 6:45. I sat on the couch in the fetal position rocking back and forth. I have this tendency to get very nervous before things. I just can't help it. I was staring at the clock. At the stroke of 6:59 I heard a knock at the door. I leaped up and looked through the peep hole. I know it was Gerard, but I just wanted to do it okay. He looked so nice. He was in a black dress shirt and red tie and black slacks.
I opened the door and had my best smile on my face.
"Gerard! You look nice."
"Wow. Alex you look beautiful." His eyes were wide open. I kind of wanted to shut them for him.
"Thanks." He held out his hand and I gently took it.
