There is more than one genre in writing. You do not have to make yours a fan fiction just to get noticed! There is:

Teen Fiction
General Fiction
Non-Fiction
Vampire
Werewolf
And so many more! I you like more than one genre, mix them.
You could have a story where your favourite band member gets turned into a vampire and goes on a mysterious adventure to find who did it.
