Natasha was tired. She hadn't seen Clint in a month - and she missed him. And now, Tony had asked her for help. She owed him, so she accepted. But, only then did she realise that he needed help with Peter.

As someone who was notoriously bad with kids, Natasha began to doubt every action that led to this outcome. It wasn't a big issue; Peter was sick, May couldn't make it, and Tony, Pepper, and Happy were out of the country for some big business thing she didn't care about.

She prepared to leave for Peter's school, and opted for a car over a motorbike (unfortunately for her, Peter did not enjoy motorbikes). The school was not too far from the Avenger's Tower, thank god, because Natasha had no input on what was wrong.

She was training, and had been told by FRIDAY that Tony had an emergency. Immediately, she began to collect weapons, but was quickly stopped by Tony's face popping up, and explaining the call from Peter's school.

She had reached the parking lot within 20 minutes, and made her way briskly into Midtown High School. At the front desk, the receptionist explained that Peter was refusing to say anything other than that he wanted to talk to Tony, and wouldn't answer questions.

Becoming increasingly more concerned, Natasha followed the directions she was given into the sick bay, where she saw a distraught Peter, who looked terrible.

"Nat?" He looked up. "Where's Tony?"

"He's in France at the moment for some business thing, so I'm the best you've got."

"You're fine," Peter said. "I need help, and May can't know."

"This sounds dubious," said Natasha.

"I skipped class because I needed to restock my web fluid, and I've noticed something weird." He explained. "You know the Shadow Cat? I think she's gone bad. I think she killed an innocent person."

Natasha arched her eyebrows. "And how does that," she said, "lead to you looking like an old punching bag." She gestured to Peter's many cuts and bruises.

"I went down and tried to stop her," Peter said meekly. "She attacked me."

"For God's sake, Peter," said Natasha. "I'm taking you to the tower. Cap knows her better than I do, and Bruce can check you over. I fought the Shadow Cat, and despite her lack of training, she can pack in a mean punch."

Peter agreed, so Natasha signed him out, and lead him to the sign out desk, and then to the car. She began to drive, and looked over at him.

"So," she said, "have you done any proper training yet?"

Peter looked surprised. "No? Should I have?"

"Not necessarily, but I think it'd be good for you. And, I was looking for a new guinea pig," She saw his terrified face, and let out a short laugh. "It's okay, I'm just offering to train you."

Peter smiled. "That'd be cool, you're really good at all that stuff," He paused. "You know, Mr. Stark's my father figure, but you're my awesome, murder-y figure. So, thanks."

Natasha smiled- a phenomenon that was rare for anyone, even Clint.
