Peter groaned. He hated running. It was painful and inconvenient, he had webs for a reason. Not to mention, it made his chest hurt like hell. When he was Spidey, he could swing everywhere with his webs. But, as Peter, he just had to make do.
He rarely took part in gym because exercise plus binder equals pain. However, he caught the bus home and often had to run to make it on time.
Peter made it onto the bus, panting. He scanned the seats, looking for MJ, and found her book, presumably hiding her face. He walked over and swung into the seat next to her.
"Didn't know you were catching the bus today Parker." she said tonelessly, barely looking up from her book.
"I have a meeting with Mr. Stark." Peter explained, wincing as he did. This was not normal, not this much pain. But, he'd survive. He always did.
"Ms. Romanoff! have you seen Mr. Stark?" Peter asked as he walked into the living quarters of the Avengers Tower.
"I think he's in the training room with Steve, you can just wait here if you-" Natasha paused mid-sentence to support Peter, who felt as though he was about to faint. He racked his brains for any reason he might be so sick, and could only think of the thief he had stopped the night before, who had trapped him in the tightest headlock known to man.
Natasha helped him stagger over to the couch and sit down. Peter heard her as though she was several rooms away, asking what was wrong, was he okay, but he felt too faint to reply. She looked at him for a moment, before standing up and speaking to the room.
"FRIDAY, tell Tony to come up to the living room immediately, it's about Peter. And Bruce too, if he's here."
Two floors down, this information was relayed back to Tony, who immediately stopped fighting Thor; he was losing anyway. He looked back at the god and said, "Call Banner." Then he proceeded to sprint out of the room, down the hall, and into the elevator.
"Kid, what's wrong? Are you okay? Nat, what happened?"
"He almost fainted right in front of me, for no obvious reason." Natasha replied, looking mildly concerned.
"Help me take him to a bed, my rooms nearest. FRIDAY, tell Banner to come to my room when he gets here, with any supplies he needs."
Peter was watching all of this groggily, having difficulty taking it all in. His chest still hurt like hell. He let Tony and Natasha lift him to his feet, and shook his head slightly, focusing on moving and staying upright.
When he had collapsed onto Tony's bed, Natasha helped him sit back up, supporting most of his weight. Tony pulled up a chair and sat down opposite him, looking him in the eye.
"Listen kid, you're going to have to help me here. Are you in pain?"
Peter mustered up all his strength, and replied. "Yes, my chest-"
"We're going to have to take your shirt off. Is that alright kid?"
"Wait- Mr. Stark. Don't hate me." Was all that Peter could say. He'd see for himself in a moment anyway.
Utterly bemused, Tony gently lifted off Peter's shirt to reveal a binder. He wasn't exactly surprised, but he was even more concerned. The binder looked painful, there was bruising all around it.
"How long have you been wearing this?" He asked.
"Too long." Coughed Peter.
"Peter, Tony or I are going to have to take this off for you. Either of us can leave the room if you want, but it needs to come off."
"It's alright," Peter managed. "Please stay."
With the help of both Tony and Natasha, they were able to get the binder off of Peter, who breathed in and out heavily. Instantly, everything felt lighter, slightly less painful. It still hurt, but nowhere near as much. Then, finally, Bruce Banner barged in, a medical kit in hand.
"I- what's wrong? Is everyone alright? Thor called, well, he tried to, and he said it was urgent?" He caught sight of Peter. "That looks painful, whatever was around your chest was so tight that it restricted your breathing." At last, Bruce caught on and a new wave of worry came over him.
"Please tell me you haven't been fighting in a binder. That's so extremely dangerous." He said.
Tony stood up suddenly and said, "Peter, I want you to rest here for a while. I'll tell your Aunt you'll stay here tonight. Nat and Bruce will watch over you, I'll be back soon. Oh, and you can put a shirt on, but nothing else."
