"so you're breaking up with me?" salem asked in disbelief.
her boyfriend of only five months was breaking up with her over a phone call. if anything, she was more disappointed than hurt.
if you're gonna break up with someone, at least do it face-to-face; salem thought.
"so you know how there's a party at matt's tonight? well, don't bother showing up." her now ex ordered, causing her to scoff.
"you're not my boyfriend anymore, i don't have to listen to what you say. fuck you and your damn necklace." she finished before hanging up on him.
she yanked the necklace that he had given her off of her neck, causing the chain to snap. the necklace had his initials on it, r.g., and there was no point in her keeping the worthless item.
"you okay?" her roommate and best friend, tavia, poked her head through the doorway to her room. it was ironic because tavia was the one who introduced salem to ryan, her ex.
"ryan's bitchass just broke up with me on the phone." salem responded through clenched teeth.
"you wanna stay home instead of going to the party? we can definitely do that if you want to." tavia frowned.
"nah, let's fucking go. maybe i'll find a rebound."
