salem suddenly sat up, her mouth agape. instead of answering with her words, she let her actions do the talking. with both of her legs straddled around him, she cupped his face in both of her hands, quickly leaning in so that their lips met. ciarán's arms snaked around her waist and he held her there tightly. assuming their intimate kiss wasn't enough for an answer, salem pulled away, resting her forehead on his and letting their noses touch. she smiled, "yes, i'd love to be your girlfriend."
ciarán was beaming. in response, he started showering her in kisses. he began kissing down her jaw and placing kisses in the crook of her neck, until salem put a hand on his chest and pushed him away gently.
"slow down sugar, i'm diabetic." she whispered, causing ciarán to laugh wholeheartedly. salem felt her body grow warm at the sound of his laughter.
"what a way to cockblock someone." he chuckled. salem unwrapped her legs from his waist, and got off of him. ciarán's smile suddenly dropped, "where are you going?"
"ciarán, i'm just trying to cuddle again." she said, her tone on the brink of sounding like a whine. she put her head on his chest again, and they were back to the same position they were in earlier.
"you know you could've stayed in that position." ciarán stated, wrapping his arms around her.
"it's not as comfortable as being completely engulfed in your arms." she mumbled, closing her eyes. during the midst of her excitement, she hadn't realized how much energy was being spent on kissing him; and now the repercussions were finally getting to her. ciarán started playing with her hair, knowing that the sensation helped her fall asleep. he kissed her forehead, effectively earning a smile from her.
when ciarán started humming to himself, salem asked him what he was humming. "oooooh who would've thought i'd get you." he sang softly.
"i love that song." she said sleepily.
"go to sleep." he whispered.
"fall asleep with me." she said, causing him to wrap his arm around her tighter.
"i will eventually, baby." he hadn't realized he had said the pet name until salem opened her eyes.
she looked up at him with the biggest grin, "baby?" she asked.
"do you not want me calling you that?" he frowned.
"no, no! i do, i'd actually love that. i'm just surprised, that's all." every time he called her a pet name, it seemed to give her butterflies. hell, every time she even saw him, her stomach was overwhelmed with butterflies.
"okay, just making sure. i don't wanna do anything that makes you uncomfortable."
salem suddenly pressed a kiss to his lips. "i don't know if it's possible for me to fall for you even more." she whispered.
"it is." he replied simply.
"and how would you know?" she raised an eyebrow at him.
"because i fell for you harder than you fell for me."
salem tried hiding her face in the crook of ciarán's neck, in order to conceal the scarlet that was growing on her cheeks. "shut your cheesy ass up." her words came out muffled.
"i know you love my cheesy ass words, baby." he smirked, craning his neck so he could look at her.
"i'm baby, huh?" she giggled, looking up at him once more.
"there can only be one baby in this relationship—and it's you."
salem shook her head, "nah. who said you couldn't be baby?"
ciarán hesitated, "fine, i guess i can be baby too." he thought the term was endearing, and he wouldn't mind the word rolling off of salem's tongue.
"okay, baby." she snickered, snuggling back into his chest for the third time. "i'm actually gonna go to sleep now, and i'm serious this time." she said firmly, closing her eyes.
ciarán just chuckled, "i'm completely fine with that." he whispered.
unfortunately, their moment was ruined when salem's door suddenly opened.
"what the hell?!"
