It was Christmas time, Jonah and y/n are having tea a cute cafe just down the street. Daniel and Zach were out in town running errands for Christmas in a few days.

Jonah sipped his tea, pondering something. He look to his girlfriend/boyfriend "y/n?"

"Mmmm?" 

"Do you remember when I first asked you out?"

"I remember you not even being able to get the question out and I had to ask you instead."

"Ha ha ha. Very funny."

Y/n sipped his/her tea. "Also true." 

Jonah rolled his eyes. "Anyway, how long ago was that?"

Y/n paused and thought for a moment, then spoke. "I think it's been over three years now."

***Flashback to their first year in LA***

Jonah and y/n were opposites. Not just as human and animals, but their personalities to. So it puzzled them quite a bit with how well they got along. They had gotten friendlier after finally talking to each other in Daniel and Zach's dorm. Jonah had dropped by to see if they wanted to go to the party at Cobryn's and suddenly forgot why he went there when he saw the book he/she was reading and commented on it. 

It turns out he was the first person that he/she knew to also have read it and he/she got...excited. They talked about it all the way to Cobryn's . It weirded out Daniel and Zach but they decided not to comment on it, two people that never interacted before today talking like they were childhood friends. When they got to the party, the two actually left it the next minute and ran to the nearest book store together. Y/n showed Jonah some of his/her favorite series and Jonah even talked y/n into buying a comic, which he/she ended up liking the series.

Later at Daniel and Zach's dorm, while the teams were eating at "Simple Wok", they all overheard a woman yelling at a couple to get of her music store. One of them was a lgbtq+ member and the lady decided to call her some homophobic things. Jonah, like a cheesy, cliche story-book hero, went over to the commotion and told the woman that " lgbtq+ are people too and you shouldn't hate them for who they are". That earned him a few "colorful" words from the lady and a slammed door in his face. Jonah invited the two over to eat with their teams. He never noticed the shocked expression on
y/n's face.

From that day on, y/n made it a point to try to talk with Jonah more. It was way easier than he/she thought it would be and almost immediately he/she started to enjoy it. Jonah did to and soon developed a crush on him/her. Which leas to an awkward interaction between them.

Jonah and y/n were studying in a classroom for an upcoming exam when he finally got the courage to do it. "H-hey y/n?"

Y/n didn't look up from his/her book. "Yes Jonah?"

Jonah swallowed loudly. "W-will...I mean would you like to, n-not that you have to! B-but would you...sometime wanna-

Still not looking up, he/she said in a monotone, "Jonah."

Jonah felt like he already bombed it. "Y-yeah?"

Y/n finally looked up at Jonah and smiled. "How does tea tomorrow at 2:00 sound?"

The blush on Jonah's face could be seen from Alaska.

***Present***

Y/n smiled at that time that seemed so long ago. "It was cute." Jonah blushed, remembering how he botched it. "Why do you bring it up?"

Jonah chuckled lightly. "O-oh, just reminiscing that's all." Little did y/n know, he/she had a small Christmas gift from Jonah hidden in a small box in his suitcase. Hopefully he got his/her ring size right.
