Chapter Seven

The sound echoed through the room and my ears rung like a continuous bell.

My head stayed in the twisted position as his hand left my face. Silence was left in the room as we both stood there, he grabbed my chin and roughly twisted my face to him.

My blurred eyes looked at his face which held anger and regret, "don't you ever talk to me like that again." He spoke through gritted teeth. The tears dragged down my burning face as he pushed me back. "I'm going out, don't wait up." As the front door slammed shut I collapsed on the floor and held my cheek. My body was still shook, the action caught me by surprise. He never touched me like that before, he vowed to never do it.

I just sat there looking towards the wall, the tv made noise but my surrounding was silent.

Attending work the next day, she went straight to business. She wanted to avoid her husband, she wanted to avoid everyone but that was unsuccessful as Ariana approached her. "Wassup girlie" the jolly female approached her best friend who wore more makeup than usual. "Wow, where are you going? You face is baked!" Rose continued onto her work unaware of the female presence due to her own thoughts. "Rose" ariana seriously nudged her shoulder which got her to respond. "Girl, what happen....it's anthony isn't it?" Rose quickly shook her head then stuttered. "No" Ariana glared at the female, "Rosette, I've known you since we were ten. You should know by now that you can't lie to me so easily. Now what the fuck happened?" Rose sat silently and looked down at her lyric sheet. "Rose...please" a sigh left her lips. "He slapped me." She whispered. "What?" Ariana voice came out as a whispered as well. "I said--" "I heard you the first time.." anger was clear in her tone. "I'm gonna fucking kill his ass!!" She yelled and I quickly approached her. "Ari, no!" "Did he leave a bruise? That's why your wearing a shit ton of makeup!?" Silence was her answer and her fury grew. "Rose!! No, HELL NO!" Ariana screamed. "It was a mistake, okay? I pushed him over the edge and he just snapped, let it go." Rose tried reasoning with her. "Rose..." tears began welling up in her eyes. "He's my husband" rose said out loud. "He's a monster" ariana retaliates earning a glare from her best friend. "Don't disrespect my husband, Ariana" "No, he needs to learn to stop disrespecting you."

Silence was heard. "I told your ass to leave him from he first cheated and dared to raise his hand at you." She pointed to rose firmly.
"Why are you bringing up the past!" "Because that shit was red flags!!" She yelled "flags that you ignored!!" The truth hurts and rose is currently feeling all the pain which ariana then notices. "Rose, I care about you. I love you and wish you happiness which is why I'm so upset. I don't mean to hurt you." The female nodded at her best friend and softly whimpered. "Please, I wanna be left alone"
