cosima opened the door to the hotel room and stopped cold, turning around to face sean. "i'll be sleeping in the chair," she rolled her eyes and walked into the room.
sean was about to question why before he only saw that there was one bed in the room. "no, it's okay, cos. you can have the bed," sean said softly.
cosima shook her head and put her stuff on the chair. "it's not like i'll be sleeping much anyways," she said and started walking to the bathroom. "and stop calling me that."
sean sat on the bed and took a deep breath. "so, we're gonna have tomorrow for the world of dance qualifier and the 29th for the other's classes. we teach our dances on the 30th, you go sometime after me and then there's the late night bash at 11 p.m. that same day," sean explained.
"when's the whole we sit on stage and talk to the audience while they ask us questions?" cosima asked, coming out of the bathroom as she tied her hair up. sean lost his thought when he saw her, but smiled to himself and continued.
"at the end of the day i believe," sean let out. it was silent for a moment. "i have a question."
"shoot," cosima said, moving around. she wasn't paying sean any particular attention, she didn't even so much as glance at him.
"if this goes will are you going to babe '18 in june?" sean asked.
"already promised janelle and will i would," cosima said and again it fell silent for a moment.
"would you go as my babe?" sean asked and cosima froze for a second.
"you know, we don't have to talk," she let out.
it almost seemed as if cosima no longer cared and had moved on from sean. however, cosima wasn't over it, she was just tired. it felt easier to not pay attention to it, to stop trying. "right," sean said softly and tossed his phone over by the pillows on the bed. he sighed and pulled out his computer, first logging into the wifi and then resuming his plan to get cosima back.
he told himself to do something unexpected and so he continued to do exactly that. he played fly me to the moon by frank sinatra, which was one cosima's most favorite songs and put the computer on the bed, letting the room fill with music. he stood up and walked over to the bathroom, knowing the girl would come out and she did as soon as she heard frank's voice.
sean took her hands in his and stretched his arms out, before pulling her close and twirling her. he lead and she followed, which surprised her just as much as it did him. somewhere deep down it did nothing but hurt her though. all the sweet things he did for her before this only ended up meaning nothing to him and maybe this would too. "please," cosima said and pulled her hands out of his, her voice cracking although she was trying to hide it. she paused the song. "we really don't have to do this. it shouldn't mean anything anyways, right?"
"it does," sean sighed. "trust me, it does."
she tried to head back to the bathroom but sean stepped in her way and she looked down. "please," she said and he moved.
"what happens when we have to be together?" sean asked. "you're gonna tell them you're mad at me?"
"i'm not mad at you," cosima said and kept on about her business.
"you're not?" sean sat up.
"see," cosima smiled to herself as she opened her suitcase. "if i can make you believe it then i can make anyone believe it."
"cos," sean let out softly.
"who knows?" cosima asked. "maybe i'll get bonus points for acting like i care."
