A/N: Sorry guys, this week it's only a short chapter, Christmas holidays and all that jazz. Happy reading!!

Chemistry seemed to drag on, even Ruby's sarcastic comments in the wonders of non-renewable fuels and how amazing they are for the environment did nothing to speed up the lesson. Neither did staring at the back of Hunters head, how does the boy have a sexy head? I was staring at it for a good ten minutes until a monotonous ringing broke the comfortable silence that had filled the class.

The bell signified the end of Chemistry and thankfully, for me anyway, the beginning of lunch. Packing up my books and placing my pencil case back in my bag, I looked up to see Hunter speeding off, already out of the door and into the crowds that had formed in the hallways.

"So what's this little flirty business you've got going on with Hunter hmm?" Ruby asked, raised eyebrows.

"Me?" I put my bag on my shoulder and placed my hand over my heart, "I have never once looked at a man in that manner!"

"Yeah right, you're having lunch with me and I want to hear everything," She started to walk out the classroom, dragging me with her, "Oh, and I have some serious tea to spill as well, don't you worry."

This is going to be interesting.

We went to Ruby's locker first since she needed to put some books away. Grabbing our food from the lunch line, we sat outside the cafeteria. Ruby opposite me and spilling the tea, figuratively and literally (we had quickly run and get some napkins from the toilets to clean up). After sitting in silence, well as silent as I could be, for about half an hour listening to the Ruby go off, I was shaken.

"You've got to be kidding me!" I choked, dropping my bagel onto my plate with a thud, "Hunter's been flirting with me since the moment I laid eyes on him!" Shaking my head and crossing my arms over my chest. Although the first moment I laid eyes on him was a good moment, a very good moment indeed, with him bent over like that-

"And apparently he's been cheating on Aimmée for last couple of months, and vice versa." Ruby said, sipping her iced tea.

Still not completely over the shock that I was in when Ruby first told me the two of them were dating, this little bit of information sent me reeling.

"Why don't they just break up then?" I said, furrowing my eyebrows, what is the point of being in a relationship if they're not faithful to each other? Talking about this made me think of the little situation in my house, urgh. It makes me physically sick.

"Because Circe, they're like a power couple, the closest the Innes Institution has to one anyway." Ruby said, pulling her face into one of disgust. "It's all of that popularity bullshit, status and all that, as if it's going to matter when we get out of this shit hole and back in to the real word."

"That's a bit fucked up don't you think?" Picking up my bagel once more I took a bite out of it. As I was chewing my eyes found a certain boy sitting with the rest of his soccer team. Hunter. He glanced my way and smiled, the fucking cheek of this boy!

Raising my eyebrows I turned back to Ruby, who sat there and watched the exchange. "I knew he was too good to be true anyway, who needs a man in the first place?" I stood up, throwing the left overs of my bagel in the trash can.

"You coming?" I called to Ruby, waiting for her answer.

"Two seconds." She said, downing the rest of her iced tea and walking towards me.
