Tiff already left at 11 because she had to wake up really early the day after since she was going to pick up her cousin from the airport. So here I am, just watching a Tom Cruise movie that was about to end.

Suddenly I hear keys jingling with a loud 'Damn it!' from my dad, who I figured was having trouble getting inside the house. I quickly get up, dart to my room, and hope he passes out. I heard his faint shouts calling my name a few times and then it stopped.

I've been dealing with that human being for two years now and living with him never got easier and it never will. The man "my dad" is now isn't the same man he was before my mom passed away. My dad loved my mom with all his heart, he probably even loved her more than he loved us; he would always get her gifts, take her out every now and then, and have movie nights together. They were the perfect example for an ideal couple. After mom's death, dad became the man he is today. He blamed Hayden and me for her death as she was on her way to pick us up. How is that logical? I don't know. I think he just wants any possible reason to why she died. So back to the point , ever since the accident all my dad does is abuse both, Hayden and me; Well right now, it's just me.

I've been dealing with the abuse, the spiteful words, and the hate from my dad for two years now. I've had enough. I am strong, I believe. For someone who has to deal with all of that and for someone who is blamed for their own mother's death, it's hard but I'm all alone in this world. I'm surviving but I need to get out of this house as soon as possible.

NEXT DAY

I woke up to my ringtone piercing in my ear. Groaning, I grabbed my phone and picked it up without looking at the Caller ID.

"Hello?"

"Ohmygod Emma! You have to come right now!"

"Come where?"I mumbled, still closing my eyes.

"To Starbucks!"

"Aren't you with your cousin? Don't tell me you woke me up so I can come and socialize."

"Stella just left to meet a bunch of friends, I have some news for you! BYE!" And she hung up, not giving me a chance to even reply back.

Lazily I get out if bed and head to the bathroom to freshen up. I walk to my closet to pick an outfit, or just anything to put on, not that I really care about my appearance. I basically wear two colors: black and white, but mostly black. I quickly changed from my pajamas so now my outfit was suitable: a denim jacket, a black tee, and black leggings. I wore my converse, took my car keys and drove to Starbucks.

When I arrive, I go in and look for Tiff's big, blonde curly hair.

"EMMAA!" I turned around and saw Tiffany jumping up and down like an idiot.

"Alright, I'm here. This better be 'news' because you ruined my beauty sleep." I sit and take a sip from her drink.

"Not all my news are silly y'know." She rolled her eyes

"Really Tiff? Remember when I was in the shower and you called and said I had news and it was SO important that I came to the mall dressed in my pajamas with my hair looking like bird nests and everyone at school kept talking about it." I kept a straight face on, remembering that haunting day.

"It was important..." she rolled her eyes at me again; a habit of hers.

"Well Bryan cheating on Harper wasn't going to change my life or that of others."

"Whatever Em. Can I just tell you the news already." She sighed in annoyance.

"Yes please."

"I know where Hayden is!" She exclaimed and that was probably one of the worst/best news I've ever heard.
