Chapter 12
Wet

After shopping at Walmart for the necessary items needed for my birthday adventure, we arrived at a huge water park that I had no idea existed until now. Shows you how much I get out of the house.
"Welcome to the water park, Kayla!" He yelled. He paid for the tickets and we parked right by the entrance.
"Have you ever been in a bathing suit?" He asked.
I was embarrassed. "No" I responded. He smiled.
"Well then I guess it's a first for both of us. Let's go get changed." We walked towards the changing area and he handed me my new bathing suit that we picked out.
As I was changing, I felt nervous. Blaze was about to see me in a bathing suit for one, and two, bathing suits are extremely revealing which means my scars would be completely uncovered. I don't know which one made me more nervous.
When I stepped out of the stall, Blaze was standing there waiting for me.
He was in black and grey swim trunks which fit him loosely. As for the rest of his body, it was completely uncovered. He had perfect abs and perfectly slender legs. He was just all around gorgeous.
As for me, I was standing very uncomfortably as he scanned me up and down. I was wearing a dark purple bikini top with black lace roses and dark blue bikini bottoms. The rest of me was fully exposed. I knew he could tell I was uncomfortable with as much exposure as I had, so he walked over to me, kneeled down, took my arm in his hands and kissed all of my scars. The people around us stared as they walked by with their children, but it felt.. Good. Even special.
He stood back up and pecked me on the lips as he grabbed my hand and pulled me to the line for the curly water slide. The smile he wore was genuine, the type of smile I had not had for years until I met him. Everything about us just felt right.
When we got up to the start of the slide, we got into a two-person tube and waited for the staff to give us the signal that we could push off.
"You're good," she mumbled and Blaze pushed off with all his strength and down we went. The ride was short, but fun.
When we got out of the pool at the bottom of the ride, a little girl walked up to us with her mom right behind her. It took the girl a moment to speak.
"Have you been in a battle?" The girl asked, "you have a lot of war marks." Her mom gently tugged on the girls swimsuit strap.
"Susie, don't be so rude," her mother said.
Surprisingly, I spoke. "No it's ok," I said looking at the mother. I then looked down at the girl. "In a way, I have been in a battle. It's very tough and I'm afraid to say it isn't over yet." The little girl smiled up at me.
"Well, I hope you win." And with that, she smiled and walked away with her mom still holding onto her swimsuit strap.
