Another Choice

Chapter 6- The Outcome

Two of Tal Tal' men Commander Lee and Commander Park walked in silent without any traces of sound. They was searching throughout the entire rebel's mansion. Finally, after some time, they found a suspicious room. That room is the only one that being guarded by soldiers. Both of them planned to lure the guard one by one, to knock them out in silence.They try to mimicked the sound of falling things. One of the soliders get suscpicous and tried to check it. When that soldier come closer, Commander Park silently take out his sword and slice the soldier's neck.

Time passed by, the other guard starting to get suspicious because his friend hasn't come back. He drew out his sword and come slowly to where his friend went before, Commander Lee sneaked out behind that soldier back and quickly strangled him with his rope. That soldier tried to fight back, but it was no use and he passed out not long after.

Both of the commanders quickly move inside the room. They found out a little boy was sleeping, they're thinking the same thing. This must be the little girl's younger brother. They carried the sleeping little boy away. When suddenly he wakes up, "Who are you? Where are you taking me?" the boy asked.

Commander Lee tried to calm him down and said,"Ssssh, be quiet! We'll take you to your sister, so be quiet, alright?"

"You knew my sister? Where is she?"

"She is in Yuan's capital. Don't worry we'll bring you to her."

Byul, Haneul's brother who still really young and innocent nodded and stayed silent. He thinks that these men are his sister's colleagues. They went to where they put their cart before.

"Stay hidden until we get outside, okay?" Commander Park said to the boy and he left. While Commander Lee stayed to guard the boy and Commander Park went back to Tal Tal to give up the news.

Tal Tal and the rest of his men was led to the rebels' general room. He hoped that he can get some information about the general. But, when he arrived, the rebels general was hiding behind the bed's curtain.

The general asked, "My men said that you've come to offer me rare-old ginseng with a fairly good price. I would like to hear your offer."

Tal Tal can't see the general's face and he can't assume his identity based on his voice only. So, he decided just to stick to his plan to save Haneul's brother first and gather the information about the rebels later.

"With our great respect, Sir, we offer you the 20 years old ginseng with a price 20 golds each. If that offer please you, we've provided with 15 packs of each."

"I would like to see the ginseng first, if you may."

Tal Tal nodded and ordered his men to take out one of the ginseng pack and he gave it to the rebel's general. The general took it and he seems to examine the Ginseng's quality. Tal Tal heart went faster and he hoped that his men pick the Ginseng with the finest quality, if not their lives will be the price.

"It seems that your barging is true. I never found Ginseng with this finest quality like this before. I won't bargain anymore, I'll take all of the 15 packs."

Tal Tal smiled and he felt relieved. He ordered his men to bring all caskets of Ginseng that they have brought. After giving all the Ginseng. He excuses himself from the general.

"If you please, General, We'll excuse ourselves out."

The general nodded and said, "Sure, if you have another good product feel free to sell them to me."

Tal Tal and his men bowed and left the General's room.

Tal Tal was finished selling up the rare ginseng. He started to worry because his men haven't returned yet. Now, they need to get out after giving the general their ginseng. Suddenly, he feels hurried men's steps behind him. He saw Commander Park has returned. The commander whispered,"Sir, we've found the boy, we hide him in the cart and Commander Lee is guarding him. Good, now we just need to hope they haven't found out about this." Tal Tal and his men hurried themselves to the mansion's gate.

In front of Byul's room

A maid asked, "Byul, I've brought you some food. May I enter?" But, there is no reply from inside. The maid started to worry, so she slides the room's door and find that his bed is empty. She rushed and told the soldiers that Byul is gone. The general heard the news and he was furious. He ordered all his men to capture the merchant. It must be them, who takes Byul.

Near the front gate of the mansion

Suddenly, Tal Tal and his men heard a shout, "Stop them!! They've taken the boy! Close the gate!"

The guards started to fire arrows towards Tal Tal's men. Some of Tal Tal's soldiers get shot and died while protecting their general.

"Quickly, we almost reach the gate."

Tal Tal and his men drew out their swords and killed the guards that tried to close the mansion's gate. Luckily they managed to get out of the mansion. They ran towards the hill. The rebels still tried chasing them.

"They must have gone too far. Follow them quickly!" One of the rebel's commander ordered the soldiers.

Tal Tal's men await with their horses in the hills. Tal Tal and his men were panting heavily as they were running from the chase of all the soldiers.

"Sir, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, quickly we must leave this place at once and return to Yuan. The enemy was still chasing us."

All the soldiers bowed and hopped on to their horses. While Commander Park took Byul to ride with him and they all ride to Yuan's capital.
