Just for a minute, it feels like time stopped. my mind goes blank for a second before both me and Lucy sprint towards Mr.Tumnus's cave door which is nocked down.
"Lucy!" Peter exclaims before he and the others run after us.
Carefully I walk in behind Lu, looking around the totally trashed place. I can feel my throat tightening, and little tears build up in my eyes. This isn't fair. who would do this?
"Who would do something like this?" Lu says, voicing my own thoughts before meeting my tear filled face. "oh... Anna..." we share a quick hug, before continuing to look around the once cozy cave.
Edmund steps on a broken picture of Tumnus's dad. Peter notices a note pinned to the wall. It says "Warrant of Arrest By Order of Her Majesty." He begins reading the note
"The faun Tumnus is hereby charged with high treason against her imperial majesty Jadis, Queen of Narnia. For comforting her enemies and fraternizing with humans. Signed: Maugrim, Captain of the Secret Police. Long Live the Queen."
Susan: "Alright, now we should really go back. "
"but Susa-" before I can say anything more, Lucy interrupts me.
"But what about Mr. Tumnus?" Nodding in agreement I look back at Susan and Peter. I know I'm the oldest, but in situations like this, when important decisions or choices has to be made, I have never felt like it's my place to say anything. usually, I turn to people I feel is above me, or most of the time has the last voice. I don't want others to think of me as controlling, but if things play out badly, someone they can turn to for guidance. that's who I want to be at least.
Susan: "If he was arrested just for being with a human, I don't think that there's much that we can do."
Lucy: "You don't understand, do you? I'm the human! She must have found out he helped me."
Peter: "Maybe we could call the police."
giving Peter a slightly irritated look, I let out a tired sigh.
Susan: "These are the police." She replies with the same amount of annoyance I feel.
Giving us an apologetic look, Peter tries to reassure us: "Don't worry you two. We'll think of something."
Edmund: "Why? ... I mean, he's a criminal."
"Ed how can you say that? You don't eve-" again I'm interrupted, but this time... its because Suddenly, we hear a "psst." But looking outside, the only thing we see is a robin.
We all share a skeptic look.
Susan: "Did that bird just 'psst' us?"
None of the children seem to make a move, so being the curious cat I am, I slowly trotted outside.
The Pevensies walk outside and the robin flies away. suddenly we all hear rustling. Sniffing I try to smell what or who it may be, but, with the fact that I haven't been a lion more than a few hours, I'm not really used to all these sharpened senses or 'functions'. So to be frank, the only thing I can rely on for the moment would be my eyes and ears. Then, the rustling stops, and a beaver comes into sight.
Lucy: "It's a beaver."
well obviously...
Peter approaches the beaver, clicking his tongue. Is he really..?
Peter: "Here boy...Here boy..."
yes, yes he is...
Peter puts down his hand. The beaver stares at it then sit upright
