CH38: Last ride

As Arthur rides, he remembers everything that happened before. He became better, a good man. He remembers all the time spent with Sarah. He never thought he would be in love again.During his ride, he takes out the silver watch she gave him and opens it. He reads the inscription inside: More than my own life.

He squeezes the watch for a moment and puts it back in his bag. He must come back, when all is over, he will find Sarah, and they will finally be together. Arthur is not a dream person, but he has hope for him and Sarah. He has hope for the baby, he will have a new life, far from everything, with the woman he loves.

He begins to cough during the ride and realize that there is no gourd containing medicinal tea.He sighs and focuses again.

Meanwhile, Sarah arrives at Copperhead Landing and finds Tilly and Jack. Abigail rushes to Jack and Sarah stays on her horse, the evening falls gently.She has a bad feeling. She looks behind her, she knows the way. Abigail looks at her for a moment, they exchange a look and Abigail nods.Very quickly, Sarah turns around and rides at full speed.

She is determined, more than ever to find Arthur. She arrives at the camp and notices all the corpses of the Pinkertons, she sees the body of Miss Grimshaw, she get off of her horse and rushes towards her.

- Susan! She shouted. It's too late, she's dead.

Sarah looks around and notices footprints heading for the caves.

*Arthur ...*

As a precaution, she takes out her guns and enters the caves. It's a real mess. She climbs up a ladder, runs, and finds the exit. She notices horse prints. She hisses to call her horse and follow the tracks. Night falls, at one moment she crosses a river and sees two corpses of horses. She goes down and immediately recognizes Arthur's horse. But who belong the other horse?

She looks around, and decides to climb the hill to get a better view, and she quickly climbs a mountain. She sees corpses of agents, she feels she touches the goal.

And there, she hears a familiar voice. She hears the sound of a fight. She recognizes Micah's voice as she climbs a little further, she sees Arthur fighting Micah.

Arthur tries to break free from Micah, but he tires quickly ... very quickly, and he begins to have trouble breathing.Arthur still managed to give Micah a few punches.But he throws himself on him and starts beating him. Arthur punched him in the stomach and managed to free himself.

As he tries to get up, Micah grabs him and tries to strangle him, but Arthur punches him in the face, and the two men fall to the ground, Arthur loses his pistol and begins to crawl to take it.

- You ain't... you lose, my sick friend. Said Micah.

Arthur is really struggling to breathe, he struggles with all his might to reach his gun.

- You lost. Said Micah.

- In the end, Micah... despite my best efforts to the contrary... It turns out I've won. Said Arthur, breathless.

Arthur reaches his pistol, but his hand is crushed. Dutch has come to put an end to all this.

- It is over now... Arthur. It's over. Said Dutch.

- Oh, Dutch.... he's a rat. You know it and I know it. Said Arthur.

- He's sick... he's dying... he's talking crazy. Said Micah.
