Eren's POV
"Levi can you help me with the shopping?" I called to my mate who was in his office. I was making the shopping list for the holidays. This would be our first Christmas together and I wanted it to be special. Levi didn't respond so I got up and took my paper and pen with me. As I approached his office I heard him scream at someone. I didn't know he had a guest so instead of just walking into his office I knocked. "Stead your name and business." Levi said coldly. "It's Eren, I need to ask you something." I said. Levi opened the door and let me in. He was mad, that I could see but I didn't know why. I looked at the man sitting in one of the chairs. He didn't look familiar so I thought he was someone from another pack. Sitting down on the couch on the other end of the office I waited for Levi to listen to me but instead he continued talking to the man. "Alright, we will help you with the treat but don't think you can buy our friendship." Levi said sitting down in his desk chair. The man bowed and thanked him before looking over his shoulder to look at me. I raised my eyebrow waiting for him to say something but he just smirked and turned back to Levi. "On another matter, have you thought about the proposal I sent you a couple days ago?" the man asked. Levi shook his head and sighed. "I have already told you I have a mate who is pregnant so no I will not accept the proposal." Levi seemed really bored but I knew he was angry. "Oh but I thought you said your mate was male. That is not good Levi. You need a strong woman to stand beside you. Besides even if he is pregnant you know 70% of male pregnancies end in miscarries or stillborn." The man smirked as he saw me tense. "Alpha Dok, I know you mean well but shut the fuck up. You will never speak of my mate like that. He is very healthy and will give birth to a healthy baby. Now if you will, kindly leave my pack and go back to your own mate." Levi said standing to show this conversation was over. Alpha Dok stood up and turned to me. "If I were your Pack Alpha you wouldn't be here only as food." He said with malice in his voice. I shrunk back into the couch not knowing if he knew I was the mate Levi talked about. "Alpha Levi wants to safe the weak. Don't make me laugh. You are nothing but prey and should be eaten like the prey you are." Alpha Dok continued to stalk closer to me until Levi growled. "If you want our help you leave my pack members alone. All of them not only the wolfs." Levi said walking around his desk and leaning on it. "Alright, alright. I just wanted to scare him a little. You know they are so easy to scare." Alpha Dok said laughing. Levi showed him a small smile before waving him off. Alpha Dok bowed again and walked out of the room. Suddenly I felt two strong arms around my waist and a head on my shoulder. I was trembling and the tears were streaming over my cheeks. "Why?" was all I asked. Levi sighed before taking a deep breath. "You know how all the old wolfs think right. They see you only as prey but I'm not like that. I had a bunny friend when I was little. He wanted to test me and see if I would protect you with my body. If I had done that he would have seen that as a sign of weakness and tried to overthrow my pack." Levi explained. I nodded still crying. Levi rocked me from side to side trying to calm me down. "He needs help fighting of rogues and since I am still the strongest Alpha they all ask me for help. I know you don't like it when I fight but sometimes it's necessary." Levi kissed my cheek before burying his nose in my scent gland. I sighed deeply finally calming down now the dangerous alpha was gone. "I know you sometimes have to so when do you need to go?" I asked looking at him over my shoulder. "Next week on Monday." Levi said not looking up. "What? That's the day before Christmas!" I said raising my voice. "Yes I know and I'm sorry but they are the pack West from us and if we don't stop them now than we could be next." Levi said his face still buried in my neck. "But what about Christmas?" I asked seeing the plans I made go up in smoke. "I am really sorry Eren but I have to go. You could just invite Erwin, Armin and Hanji over. That will be fun." Levi said trying to cheer me up. "But you won't be there. I won't celebrate Christmas without you." I said stubbornly. "But baby you love Christmas."
"Yes if I can spent it with you. But if you are not here it's no use. And what about all the other families who will miss their loved ones if you go to war. The pack warriors have family too." I tried to argue. Levi sighed before cupping my cheek. "Eren I will only take the Levi squad. All the other warriors will stay here. This will be a small operation. But I'll be hone before new years." Levi said. I started crying again. "I don't want you to go." I sobbed burying my face into his chest. "I know baby but it's for the greater good. We could always celebrate next year." Levi said stroking my hair. "It's not the same," I said feeling I couldn't argue with his vision and knew he was right but I still didn't want him to go. "I know." Was all Levi said. We both were quiet just enjoying each other's company. I was getting tired and soon fell asleep in his arms.
