I was in the kitchen making coffee. Henry walked in and sat at the island. I smiled before sipping my drink.

"Mum pretend your a cute girl" he says quickly.

"Ouch" I say looking up at him.

"You know what I mean. Pretend your a young cute girl" he sighed.

"Ouch" I say again.

"Come on mum. I need your help. Should I buy my girlfriend a necklace or a ring? What would she prefer" he asked as he sat up.

"Well when I first started dating your mum I brought her the most beautiful ring ever. I'd go ring" I replied softly.

"Thanks. Her and her mum are coming over to meet you and mum today" he says as he relaxed more but not fully.

"You nervous" I asked.

"Very! I know her mum won't like mum. There so different" he says proving he's worried.

"It will be fine. There grown woman" I shrugged as I sipped my coffee.

Later that day. The front door knocked. The butler answered it as I walked passed. I saw Henry's girlfriend stood there with a slightly taller woman. She was about my height and a little bit older.

"Yes" the butler asked.

"Hey violet" I say walking towards them.

She stepped in and hugged me like she always did. I saw the other woman step into the house and the butler closed the door. Violet pulled away and looked at her.

"This is my mum Julia. Mum this is Emma one of Henry's mums" she says introducing us.

I shook Julia's hand and she smiled at me sweetly. We pulled our hands apart and she rapped hers around boilers shoulder.

"It's nice to meet you" the woman says as she flicked some of her hair over her shoulder.

Just her doing that I can tell Regina won't like her. I lead the way to the lounge where Regina, Henry, jasmine, Alex and cliff were all sat. They looked up and smiled at us. Henry stood to his feet before walking over and hugging his girlfriend.

"Hi babe" he says smiling brightly.

Regina stood up and walked over to me. She looked at Julia and her eyebrow raised. I knew what she was thinking. Already she thought the outfit was loud and bold. I coughed quickly to get her attention. She looked at me and giggled slightly.

"Hi Regina. This is my mum Julia"

"Hi. I'm Regina. It's nice to meet you" she says shaking the woman's hand.

"Yes. Lovely" Julia replied not sounding at all like she meant it.

"I'm sorry? You don't sound impressed by me" Regina asked confused.

I grabbed her hand and pulled her back just as Julia looked a little shocked she spoke. I shake my head at Regina and she rolled her eyes.

"Anyway. These are Henry's siblings and the baby is his sisters son" violet quickly says to change the subject.

"Hi. Jasmine and this is my son cliff" my eldest daughter introduced herself as she shook the woman's hand.

"And this is Alex. My little brother and best friend" Henry says as he lifted our son onto his hip.

"Hi... person" Alex smiled as he realised he didn't know her. "Violet" he excitedly announced as he smiled brightly at her.

"Is he ok" Julia asked with a smile at us.

"What?! What's that's supposed to mean" Regina asked annoyed.

"Well he called me person. No one in there right mind has ever called me that"

"Well he's obviously got Down syndrome you moron" jasmine snapped.

"Jasmine" I quickly say will shaking my head.

She sighed and sat down with cliff in her arms. Julia looked shocked at me and Regina while crossing her arms.

"Do you all talk like that" she asked.

"Don't you judge my family! My son has Down syndrome yes and he doesn't understand somethings. If he doesn't know you he says person. Nothing offensive" Regina says starting angry but tried to calm down.

"Well maybe manners would help the poor boy" she sighed.

"Mum" violet snapped at her mother.

"Manners? He's a 6 year old boy who can't understand most things yet. Don't fucking tell me he needs manners" Regina snapped getting angrier.

"Mum language" jasmine quickly says covering cliffs ears.

"Gina calm down" I softly say but she ignored me.

"Get out my house right now. How dare you judge my son like that" Regina snapped before walking out the room.

"Why did you have to do that mum" violet asked upset before running out.

Henry chases after her. Julia walked towards the door and I followed. She walked to my front door and left fast. I know if I go see Regina she will be furious. I can't not go but I also shouldn't. It's a catch 23.
