Jasmine woke up extremely excited. She wanted to try on her new dress and new boots but then she remembered- did anything she get survive?
She dug into her trouser pockets and breathed a sigh of relief, pulling out a small object. Then she reached into her other pocket and got out even more things.
She jumped up and instantly began getting changed, throwing off her usual shirt and gently putting on her dress and leggings, tying the red sash round her waist and putting on the matching headband. She put her pistols on her belt and then came to her own small objects.
The first was a small detailed necklace, which had the pendant of a small octopus, but she struggled to put it on. Until someone behind her managed to clasp it. She turned, already expecting who it was.
"Stop sneaking up on me!" She exclaimed looking at Darren, "I could've been getting changed!"
"But you weren't so..." he shrugged, "that's a very nice necklace you got yourself" nodding his head as if approving it.
"And you look amazing, well much better than those other clothes you had before" and he really did look amazed, "they really suit you, you seem like you belong here more"
"I love it" she told him, turning to look in the mirror on the wall, "I'm part of the crew now"
"You were always a part of the crew" he told her, "you have no idea how glad I am you decided to come back, and you nearly didn't because of those bastards" he swore, and looking at him in the mirror she could see he looked furious. She turned around and looked right into his face.
"But they didn't and that's all that matters" she grabbed his wrists which he'd balled up into fists, "and actually if it's any consolation, I managed to shoot one of them" he laughed and looked down at his feet.
Their hands loosened and his fingers traced over the back of her hands as she opened her mouth to say something, someone suddenly charged through the door.
"We were followed, they're catching up" the crew member said, disregarding them holding hands, "we need orders" she'd turned to watch the person but when she looked back she realised that Darren hadn't taken his eyes off her.
"They need you" She said quietly, looking away and stepping back, "get us out of this mess"
He smiled sadly before rushing out of the room, leaving Jasmine with her thoughts. Her heart rate had increased. Jasmine steadied herself, taking a few deep breaths before running out of the room too.

"What's the details?" Jasmine asked, standing next to Darren who was currently looking through a small telescope.
"Have a look, recognise any of them?" He was clearly angry but she didn't realise until she took the telescope and looked through it.
"No! No no no no no" she repeated, shoving the telescope back, "How!? Why!? Why're they after us?" She became extremely stressed and started panicking.
"It'll be okay, they obviously didn't learn the first time" he growled his hands once again fists, "I promise I won't let them get anywhere near you" he sighed and started to shout orders to the others.
"I can help, I've been practicing-" she began but she was already cut off.
"You could get hurt and I don't want to take that risk" he spun round to face her, "I won't let you"
"Oh come on! I'm not going to sit around until it's over" she argued back but he shook his head again. She scowled back before going back into the cabin.

But she wasn't going to listen to him. Quickly she reloaded her pistols and tried to mentally prepare herself. These people had tried to kidnap her, which wasn't exactly unlike her first situation but she brushed it off. But she steadied herself, ready to attack. She heard the shouts but from her own crew, probably giving orders or telling people to prepare for battle and she did just that. She raced towards the huge window at the back where her ledge was and could definitely see the other ship catching up, so she prepared herself. Facing the doorway, arms outstretched and her eyes narrowed, focusing on the movement she could hear.
And that's when she heard the roars from her crew and thuds of new boots jumping onto deck, but then there was silence. Her mind whirred in confusion. The battle couldn't have lasted just two seconds, until she heard a female voice loud and clear, addressing the crowd. Curious, Jasmine slowly stepped towards the door and opened it just a small midge to see what was going on. The crew was crowded round what she assumed was the woman, because she could hear her.
"We don't want any stupid brawls" she began as the crew seemed just as confused to what was happening as Jasmine was, "we just want her". She spoke every last word there clearly and slowly, making sure it lasted in their minds. Jasmine was shocked and her mouth gaped open in horror. Why did they want her!? She was all for just running out and shooting the woman but then someone stepped out of the crowd toward the stranger. Darren.
"No." He simply stated, but his voice was aggressive almost like a growl, "you're going to have to kill us first if you even want to get near her"
