He turned on his earpiece. But there was no reply from other line. Suddenly there were screams and bangs from his earpiece.

Were they in some fight?

"Number 6, what happend. Report!", he asked coldly but only followed silence on other line.

That man was confused but the next moment, he heard a bang and a hit at the back of his head. A bullet pierced through his head.

And blackness followed as he didn't even have time to feel the pain or to think what caused his death.

Somehow Angelize found her way out of the slums unscathed. She was sure that she would encounter those professionals on her way out but she didn't. She had been careful but it was as if they vanished in thin air.

She didn't feel anything near suspicious through her course.

'Your deadline is tomorrow', Angelize contacted Eric as her long fingers typed on keyboard.

Ping!

Eric, who had been lying on his chair with a foolish smile when fantasizing his upcoming fortune, suddenly jerked and looked at the message.

Once he saw the text, his back stiffened as he realized who it was.

Who could it be other than Cyber-fox? With such few words-straight to the point.

'I remember. Everything is settled. Reports would be publicized tomorrow at 12 am', he fervently texted back and eagerly waited for a reply.

'Make it today'

Eric frowned. It was difficult but not entirely impossible.

'Wasn't our deal was a week?'

Quickly came a reply.

'Consider it an opportunity to our comradeship'

Angelize wouldn't miss out on the fact that he had been trying to suck up to her previously. A Journalist he was so he wouldn't let go of the opportunity to make connections.

Eric was thrilled as his eyes brightened.

'On my way! I just hope that you can keep me in your good regards with future tasks"

'Prove your worth to me and I'll'

Eric closed the tab and made his way to his laptop.

Now for the end of Carter family...

He cracked his knuckles and began the show.

That night Angelize stayed at her guard. There were high chances of being ambushed in her own apartment. But to her surprise and against the odds, there was no suspicious movement. It was as if those men who chased her vanished.

Angelize didn't think too much of it.

And the following day, media channels were full of the news of the Carter family.

Their records were out. Their connections to organizations of other countries. The videos of wrongs committed by their members were all on social media.

And it created quite an impression. Angelize had to admit that the Eric guy did his work well. Angelize didn't chose him for no reason. She had a good character discernment. And he was the best option for the job. The speed with which the videos were spread made it impossible for the Carter family to remove them. So no matter how many men they employed, the videos were uploaded once again.

Those video served the purpose of effectively ruining their reputation with public propaganda.

With their imminent ruin handing like a dagger at their throats, they had no time to worry about avenging a certain crippled son of the family.

Everyone was talking about how bad and morally corrupt the Carter family was.

But what was proved to be catastrophic for them was not those minor crimes in videos but their connections to outside countries organization and possibility of colluding with them. No government could overlook disloyalty.

So every member of their family was immediately arrested by military.

Angelize sat on the couch with a cup of warm coffee on the next cold night and took a sip. She turned on the TV and the first thing that popped up was the face of Eric Davidson.

The blond guy with glasses who was in his early twenties sat proudly. Lot of anchors that used to look down upon him, surrounded him with fawning smiles.

He was smugly bragging about his accomplishment and how he spent months to dig out about Carter family and that his loyalty and love for his county drove him to such actions.

Angelize was surprised.

The shamelessness of this guy.

But it was good for her anyway that he didn't mention her name. Because she didn't want to be put in limelight.

People in media groups would know that he was lying and hit a jackpot to be selected by someone powerful for this thing but the general public was always an idiot.

Of course he became celebrity overnights.

Angelize took in a sip and checked various media channels to check the status of Carter family.

If things were to run smooth, they would be executed in a month time.

At that time her phone rang/

"Kukro Karoo! Kukru Karoo"

Angelize took out her cell.

Prick: "Don't forget tomorrow is our assignment day. Don't be late. Your idolized Christin"
