Angelize had no idea about the reasons behind Christain strange behaviour. But then he had always been unpredictable for her.

On an extortionate long dining table that was full of scrumptious dishes, Angelize made her way and sat on a chair beside Christain. After getting cold, she was wearing her hoodie now. That was a relief for Christain. She saw the main seat, that was supposed to belong to the head of the house was empty.

"Auntie, why is that seat empty. Is Mr. Blade not home yet.", she casually asked as she cut the steak using a knife and put it in her mouth.

She moaned slightly as the meat melted in her mouth and gave her a delicious sensation.

She was good with internet and daggers but with cooking, she was awful.

Its been a long since she tasted something that good.

She looked at Ms. Blade to find a sullen look on her face. She frowned slightly to see Ms. Blade looking down with sorrowful eyes.

"He is...", her voice meekly said.

"He's an important man so he never gets a leave. He's is rarely home", Christain, who had been strangely quiet the whole time, suddenly snapped at Angelize in a bad-tempered tune. He obviously didn't like Angelize asking about his father.

Ms Blade wanted to rebuke her son for his lack of manners but was reluctant to do so as her face still showed a hint of dejection.

As the awkward silence prevailed, Angelize decided to end it

"Auntie, your cooking is so good. I'll never regret staying for dinner"

Listening to her generous compliment, Ms. Blade previously desolated eyes lit up and she fervently engaged herself in conversation with Angelize. And so the tense atmosphere eased.

"Angelize tell me about Christain. How is he in college?", as Ms. Blade asked she had a very attentive face and bright eyes.

Christain ears opened as the topic shifted to him.

"Well...", Angelize looked like she was recalling something. After a long torturous silence Angelize only said.

"He is fine"

Ms. was not happy with that answer. She definitely wanted to fish lot more information about her son.

"I know he is good in studies but does he have any friends? Like is he popular among girls", Ms Blade asked with a serious face.

"Mom!", Christain whined.

"You shut up! You never tell me anything about your college life"

Ängelize had a smile on her face.

"He has a lot of friends"

"Really?", Ms Blade looked surprised then she turned to glare at Christain, "You told me you don't have any friends! Why don't you bring them home if you have so many friends"

Christain face clearly said 'because I don't want to be embarrassed to death by you in front of my friends' but he didn't dare to voice out his thoughts.

Angelize could vaguely guess why. Now it all started to make sense to her. Ms. blade over excited attitude to see her was because Christain had never brought home any friend before.

Ms. Blade looked back at her. Her face immediately softened.

Christain wanted to cry at the contrast between the generous face with which his mother looked at her and the affectionate voice with which she talked to her and the grumpy face with which she looked at her son , her own flesh and blood.

"Tell me about it. How about girls? Is he famous among girls", she eagerly asked.

Angelize smiled faintly. She felt a cold glare at her side. But that didn't stop her from answering truthfully.

"Quite much"

Listening to that new piece of information, Ms. Blade looked like she was in seventh heaven.

And Christain felt like he was in seventh hell.

Then Ms Blade thought she must not be too happy listening to all the praises of her son before knowing his flaws.

"Is he good to anyone? I mean does he act like a nice person or a douche", she nervously asked.

Angelize felt the cold glare at the side of her face intensify. A layer of frost covered the side of her face that was facing Christain.

"Chrsitain stop glaring at her!", Ms Blade rebuked her son before the frost could completely freeze Angelize face and seal her lips.

Christain broke into cold sweat. He knew that Angelize didn't have a very high opinion of him.

"Actually...", both Ms. Blade and Christain held their breath as Angelize replied torturously slow, "He is alright"

"Are you sure? Does he have no flaws?", Ms Blade directly asked. She badly wanted Angelize to give a long detailed answer.

Angelize looked like she was thinking something.

Cutting her steak, she said; "He noses in other matters a lot"

Ms. Blade visibly sighed in relief. She was actually expecting a lot worse than that.

About nosing in others matter...

"He got that from his grandfather. He has gotten himself beaten quite a few times for this bad habit of his. There was that one time that he..."

Christain slammed his hands on the table to hush his mother when he realized that the embarrassing moments of his childhood were about to disclose.

"Mom! That's enough!"

"Christain!"

"Its alright Auntie. You have already told me a lot about Christain earlier when we talked", Angelize smiled sweetly, "So leave that one for the next time"

"What!'

Christain was flabbergasted.

Angelize flashed Christain a smile with her bright teeth.

That smile-that single smile chilled him to the marrow.

He quietly sat at his chair and fretted over the things his mother could have told her.

Outside the clouds thundered violently and lightening lit the sky like daytime. After they had finished their dinner and Ms Blade had chatted with Angelize to her heart content, Angelize suddenly stood up.

"Its getting pretty late. I think I should leave"

Ms. Blade eyes went dull.

"Angelize darling when would you be visiting again?"

Angelize smiled sheepishly.

She was moved by the love Ms Blade showered her with. But previously she had made a visit intending to end the business so she won't have to visit again. But now she felt like she liked it here. And Ms. Blade expectant eyes made her feel guilty.

"Maybe next month", her voice was reserved.

"Oh!", Ms. Blade looked sad

"How are you going back? The weather outside is pretty bad", Ms. Blade worriedly asked.

"I'll find a taxi"

"You won't find a taxi in this area", Christain revealed.

It was a defence area. Everyone was checked before entering and taxis were not allowed in. And the rich community living in the area already had a lot of drivers. So no one needed a taxi.

At this new fact, Angelize looked worried.

"Its pretty late. How about you stay the night sweety?", Ms. Blade beamed at her.
