After about 30 minutes into the movie, I look up at James, for a second I can't believe he is really here with me. He catches me staring.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" He asks and tilts his head to the side in the most adorable way.
"Well I was just thinking I don't really know that much about you." I respond.
"Are you hungry Dell? Cause I'm fucking starving." He says and gets up to grab his jacket.
"Wait you're just gonna ignore my question?" I ask a little annoyed.
"Technically, it wasn't a question." He says and reaches over to poke my cheek.
"Still James." I practically whine.
"Let's go eat, and I'll tell you all about my shit childhood yeah?" The tone in his voice is dark but he gives me a smile to lighten the mood.
"You're being awfully nice."
"Well I'm trying, so you don't kick me out again." He says playfully.
He's right though, if he was being anything less than nice I would have kicked him out. He has to know that I won't deal with his constant mood swings."Come here." He says after a moment. I slowly walk towards him and once I am within reaching distance, he reaches out and grabs me with both hands by my jaw and gives me a soft kiss. The way he is kissing me feels so intimate and I feel as if my knees could buckle at any moment. I move to deepen the kiss and try to lace my fingers through his hair, but he stops my movements.
"That's enough Dell, or else I will starve to death and might have to find something else to eat." He gives me a suggestive wink.
Oh. Yeah we definitely have to leave.
"Where are we going to eat?" I ask while putting my shoes on.
"Geez woman must you know everything?" He asks harshly but when I look up, there is a playful smile on his lips. I roll my eyes at him and smile back.
"I like to, yes."
"Well too bad Dell." He says as he walks out and I quickly follow. We get to his car and I am just as amazed as I was the first time I saw it. It truly is my favorite car, my dad used to have one when I was younger. It was his pride and glory, but he sold it to pay for mom's treatment. She begged him not to, but he did it anyways.
"Have I told you how much I love your car?" I look at the car in admiration and he does the same.
"Uhh thanks, I like it too." He says rather awkwardly, I can tell he's not used to receiving compliments.
We get in the car and he turns it on. The engine roars to life.
"Can I ask you something?"
"You just did." He looks over at me with a smirk. I roll my eyes at him.
"Go ahead Dell, you have the whole ride to pester me with your invasive questions, then it's my turn." He gives me a smile and puts his hand on my thigh. My body ignites. Great now how am I supposed to concentrate?
"Uhh what's your favorite song?"
"Easy. "You Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC"
"Are they your favorite band?"
"Well I would hope so, otherwise I got the wrong tattoo." He says with a grin and pulls the sleeve up from his jacket to show me his wrist. The band's logo is there in black. I don't know how I didn't notice it before. I take his hand and trace the tattoo.
"Cute.""It's not cute." He says with his eyebrows furrowed, "it's rock n roll baby." He pushes in a cassette tape in the radio and AC/DC begins playing.
All throughout the drive he drums his fingers on the steering wheel to the beat of the music while I ask him question after question.
