After George left to go to Kent for his get together, Alex and I immediately dropped everything we were doing and faced each other, crossed legged on the sofa with serious concern written on our faces. I loved our bond to be honest, we both usually shared the same feelings and thoughts.

"Right, where's he off to?" Alex asked.

"The Fox and Goose, Kent. It's exactly 35 minutes away from Josh's place. I know that he's recently had a rowl with one of the lads going and he seeks a little revenge. If we team up, George can stay safe and Josh gets his laugh. To get there, we'll take the train then from Josh's house we'll get an Uber." I explained, texting Josh if he's cool with it. He was and he said he'd help.

An hour later we found ourselves dressed in black with giant sunglasses, a fake moustache and a ski mask. We sat opposite each other on the train not looking suspicious at all.

"You look ridiculous." I said bluntly at Alex.

"Wha-have you seen yourself!?" He protests. I grin and adjust the fake moustache and glasses. We both giggled eventually, neither of us being able to hold a straight face.

"Okay, okay. So we just walk in, sit down, order a drink and basically spy on him?" He cleared up. I could understand his concern, if we were caught, it would be funny but unhelpful.

"Yes. Josh will meet us there and he'll do whatever he's gonna do. Things are gonna go alright." I smiled. I looked bizarre considering my attire so I didn't blame Alex for laughing.

After arriving at Kent station, before we knew it we were sat in the Uber on our way to the pub.
We told the driver to drop us off down the road from our destination and after that we casually made our way.

Alex and I sat a few tables away from where George was sat, in our phenomenal disguises may I add. We ordered drinks and discreetly kept our eyes peeled for any suspicious behaviour. Josh didn't stick around however, he met us and did what he had to do and left.

However, we were sure that not everyone had arrived to the get together. George said there would be around 6 people but there were 5. Until she showed up. My jaw relaxed and dropped and my eyes widened. I really hated knowing two Beth's. Nice Beth with blonde hair didn't turn up no - the best friend eater did. Her smirk spread comfortably on her face as I watched her hand spend far too long brush along George's shoulder. To be honest, Alex wasn't fond of her either, not after she accidentally deleted his film footage on multiple occasions. I thought that George was just catching up with his mates but I was wrong. Alex and I both.

What happened next is the reason why I'm doing this. The reason why this all happened.

It wasn't until after the get together things went spiralling down. Alex and I left the pub and slowly walked down the pavement, just chatting about how relieved we were. An uber was parked on the side of the road too. But the driver didn't look like an average driver, he looked rather dodgy. We decided to hang around by the bus stop: a steak out.

George and the group got into the Uber, all a range of drunk but Bastard Beth snapped her head around, like she was checking if anyone was watching then quickly slid into the car. Alex and I looked at each other, of course we were going to follow the car but not because of obvious reasons - but because Alex noticed some sort of faulty in one of the wheels.

Sabotage.

It was so cliché and expectable. As soon as the car were to start, the tripwire would trigger a firework of some sort to light and explode. It was a terrible bomb but it could still do damage either way.

The next moment was a blur. It was slow motion and silent. Street lamps illuminated the wet streets as we ripped our disguises off, yelling and running after the car. Our footsteps pounded against the concrete and our screaming cancelled out the deafening silence: a ringing in the ears as my arm outstretched as if I was going to grab the vehicle on my own.

Meanwhile in that vehicle, Beth and the driver smirked at the spiked victims in the car. They sped up, the firework getting closer and closer to laughing.

It was at the last moment that Beth jumped out the car, driver too.

My throat pleaded for mercy on my aching voice.

Alex's legs moving unconsciously.

And then we watched the car burst into colours. But most importantly, the orange and yellow hues.

And the screams shall forever scar Alex.
