"Have you heard the news Potter?" Draco said with a smirk, Crabbe and Goyle in tow.
"Piss off Malfoy" Harry spoke now glaring at the blonde.
"You might not want to talk to me like that, I could be your fellow house mate!" Now this confused the people who heard this apart from the three standing in the doorway.

"You're moving into Gryffindor?" Ron said with a shudder. No one liked this idea. Even Draco shuddered.
"No blood traitor." Draco grimaced "Dumbledork has decided to resort our year to test us again." The trio looked confused.
"Do I have to explain?" They looked at him and nodded. He saw this and sighed "We are going through the sorting ceremony again meaning we might be put in different houses!"
Realisation hit Harry hard in the face. He would most likely lose his friends due to either they went to another house or he did.
"Now Potter" Draco said turning to face Harry "If you, the golden boy, somehow get into Slytherin with me." He paused thinking about what to say next "I offer my hand again" Draco stuck his hand out at Harry. "But..." Harry now looked up from the young Malfoy's hand and looked at his face. "If you are to say 'no' or do not get sorted into Slytherin my offer will no longer stand and none of you will ever speak of this again. Got it?"
Harry remembered the first time that Malfoy offered his hand. The last time, he had come into the compartment insulted Ron then offered his friendship by saying 'You'll soon find out some wizarding families are much better than others, Potter. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there.' Harry had declined the offer then because he knew he was going to be with Ron in Gryffindor. It was also because Ron was the first friend he had and Malfoy had insulted him and his family which didn't make a good first impression. But now Harry knew that there was a chance that he would be separated from this two best friends and it would only stand if he did join Slytherin. He had nothing to lose. "Only if I get into Slytherin?" Harry questioned just to be sure.
"Yes, Potter. Only if you get into Slytherin" Malfoy replied sounding slightly annoyed. Harry looked at the girl and the boy sat opposite him and saw their worried faces.
"Deal, Malfoy."
Harry took the blondes hand and shook it. With Malfoy looking very happy with himself he strutted out of the compartment and down the hall to his own at the front of the train.
"H-Harry.." Hermione started, looking shocked at the boy in front of her. "Mate, what...why did you do that?" Ron finished for Hermione.
Harry looked at the two directly in the eyes and said "I've got nothing to lose" then looked out the window. He looked at the Scotland hills and forests, all while ignoring the questions and outrage from the others in the compartment. Then he thought about it. He didn't regret shaking Malfoy's hand. Not at all.
