I looked at the Scotland hills and forests, all while vaguely listening to Pansy asking why I do it. All I could think was I didn't regret shaking Potters hand. Not at all.
At Hogwarts
Once everyone got off the train, we were treated the same as normal but this time we had Hagrid, who would later take the first years, take them in carriages. Once we got to the Hogwarts doors we were told to wait outside the great hall just like when we were first years. With Pansy still talking about me being friends with Potter now I start to ignore her and listen in on others' conversations.
Then the little know it all, Granger, said something to Potter and I saw him getting more and more frustrated the more she talked. Weasley joined in not long after and I saw Potter getting even more annoyed.
"It won't be house rivalry if I'm in Slytherin." Said Potter. Why couldn't they accept that he might be sorted into Slytherin?
"Oi, mate, you're making Hermione upset. She was saying you only did it to make him feel better. We know it's true!" Weasley argued.
Potter looked like he was fuming now. "I didn't just do it to make him feel better I did it because I know it's an actual possibility! Can't I at least have one friend in Slytherin!" He took a breath to what looked like to calm down. "There is one thing that I never told you guys. It's that the hat wanted to sort me into Slytherin in first year but I begged it to put me in Gryffindor because I wanted to be with you guys!" Potter raised his voice probably loader than he thought he did. Now everyone who had heard looked confused at the boy. "Harry, we know you're lying" Granger said quietly. She is really starting to get in my nerves. I don't need petty. I don't need people to feel bad for me. WHO DOES SHE THINK SHE IS. FILTHY LITTLE MUDBLOOD. Suddenly all the glass around the group smashed and fell to the floor like rain. Everyone looked at Potter who was not phased by the glass, he was not paying attention to them but looking directly at me who probably also looked just as annoyed as Potter does. Suddenly Professor McGonagall throws open the doors to the great hall and glares at all the students in the entrance hall. By the look of surprise she probably didn't think any student could do that, there was glass everywhere and everyone was staring at Harry Potter.
"Right, now children", she started with all us now looking at her.
"Time for you all to be resorted! Follow me." She ordered everyone. We all followed her to the front of the great hall with glass still in some peoples hair.
"You all know what to do? When I call your name you come up and sit on the stall."
After she had finished the hat said it's speech then began to sort the children.
"Granger, Hermione"
"RAVENCLAW"
Bloody know it all.
"Longbottom, Neville"
"GRYFFINDOR"
He's a bloody Hufflepuff.
"Malfoy, Draco"
"SLYTHERIN"
It was to be expected.
"Potter, Harry"
There was a long pause and a bit of hushed conversation between the two before the hat shouted;
"SLYTHERIN"
I knew that I made the right decision.
Lots of conversations burst out at that moment all to do with the boy who lived being in the 'evil' house at Hogwarts. After a couple of minutes of conversations the hall went quiet again to carry on the sorting. Up next was Weasley.
"Weasley, Ronald"
There was almost no pause before the hat shouted;
"GRYFFINDOR"
With a happy look on his face, Weasley went to his house table without looking around anywhere but Gryffindor.
"So Potter... Slytherin?"Word count: 640
