22. Darkened world

It's been two weeks since I broke up with Liam.

The twins stopped talking about him, and nobody seemed to mention him.

But my heart still felt hollow.

'Mari!' Matty shouted my name, which got me out of my daydream.

'Yes, Mr Mat Mat,' I picked him up as he huddled against my leg, 'what can I do for you?'

'Park!' He said with both arms raised.

'Yes!' Teddy, who was playing with his lion pulling toy, heard us as well.

Liam bought that toy.

'Ok, go ask Flynny if he wants to come with us, too,' I told the boys.

'Finny!' The boys toddled into his study, 'park!'

Haha, they still couldn't pronounce the L sound, which was adorable.

I leaned against the wall to appreciate his designs, they were beautiful.

Oh, have I ever mentioned Flynn studied fashion design?

'Wow, these dresses are beautiful, and so elegant.'

Flynn looked proud, 'thanks, Posy. The theme is "mermaids".'

'Well done Flynny, I'm so proud of you,' I went into the room and gave him a brief massage,' you wanna join us to the park? You need a break as well.'

He stretched his back and neck, 'yeah, being indoors for the whole day really gave me back problems!'

The twins seemed to understand him, so they pulled him out with all their strength.

'Alright, let's go!' I said.

The boys were playing with some dogs which other people were walking. So me and Flynn sat on the side to watch them.

'Mariposa, how are you feeling,' Flynn asked me.

I shrugged, 'how can I feel? I mean I've definitely been better.'

He didn't look convinced from his furrowed eyebrows so I added, 'you know I've been worse too.'

He nodded, 'yeah, but you really worried me.'

See, that's why Flynn was irreplaceable. He's always been there for my ups and downs. He's seen me crying from happiness, he's also seen me being a depressed piece of shit.

I held his hand and gave it a light squeeze,' I'm sorry, Flynny. I'm fine now, it's just that...'

'I know, you love Liam,' he finished my sentence for me.

I could feel tears rolling down my face, 'yeah... But I had to push him away.'

'Aww come here Posy,' he pulled me in for a tight embrace, which the twins eventually joined in.

'You see, your brothers love you, too.'

I pinched their little pink cheeks and said, how could they not, right boys?'

'Yes, Mari!'

'One day you gotta teach them your full name,' Flynn suggested.

'Yeah, but Mari's quite cute,' I said, 'only said by them.'

He chuckled and said, 'I really don't know what's with having long-ass names in your fam.'

I laughed, 'neither. I guess dad thought that's what posh people do, naming their children long names.'

Flynn's got a point, I've got four names while the twins both had three.

'What's their full names again?' Flynn asked.

'Theodore Leonardo Wayne and Mateo Emmanuel Jude,' I said,' let's hope I didn't get them wrong haha.'

' Well, you got a lot of work teaching them their names,' he teased me.

'Don't remind me of that!'

After fifteen minutes of tranquil silence, Flynn suddenly said.

'I've an idea!'

I was shocked by his sudden outburst, 'jeez Flynn, you scared me.'

'Mariposa, do you still love Liam?' Flynn looked at me seriously.

I couldn't form a sentence but Flynn kept pushing me for an answer, ' tell me, Posy!'

'YES!' I finally said.

How could I not?

'Yeah, then tell him!'

'No, Flynn, we've gone over this so many times...'

'Yeah, but technically, this has nothing to do with him!'

'It doesn't...' Flynn's right actually.

I mean, that was my dad's decision to commit suicide, so it really didn't have anything to do with Liam or the bank...

'Yeah! So why would you wanna break up?' Flynn literally jumped up from the bench. He even pulled me up too.

'He still loves you, you still love him, so why break up?' This felt like a lion king moment when the monkey finally pointed out the obvious.

I could feel the fire in my heart burning again.

'Ok, I'll go find him now.'

Flynn pulled me back, 'no, just snapchat him and tell him right now, right here!'

He got out his phone and opened Snapchat,' when I said ok, just start speaking. 3, 2, 1, ok.'

'Hey... Liam, I... love...'

'CUT! Louisiana! That was shit! Do you even English?' Flynn told me off.

'I'm nervous in front of the camera!' I defended myself .

'Ok fine, let's rehearse it without the phone first.'

I held both my brothers hands and said, 'Liam, I love you, and I never wanna be separated from you again. The boys need...'

Suddenly, a group of men in all black surrounded us.

'What are you...'

A huge bang on my head darkened my world.
