"So, what college do you plan on going to?" Wendy asks me.
We have been at the ice cream store for around thirty minutes now. We finished our ice cream a while ago. We are just talking.
"I don't know yet." I say.
I am going to graduate from high school in May. I hope to get a job and maybe go to college the year after graduation. I want to discover myself first.
"I want to go to Harvard, Yale, or Stanford. I'm open to other colleges but those are my top picks." She says.
"What do you aspire to be?"
"That, I do not know."
Just then Trey and his girlfriend, Carol walk in. I don't know why, but I don't like him. He seems like a stuck-up, athlete. He probably has all the girls falling over him. He probably knows it too.
I see Wendy tense up as she hears Trey and Carol come in. I wonder if she likes him. Hopefully she doesn't because boys like that only go out with who they think they should. Who they think they should is not usually, girls like Wendy but girls who wear skimpy clothes and are cheerleaders. They usually aren't serious about their grades.
Wendy turns and looks at them. As Trey meets her gaze, she smiles.
She turns and looks at me. "You want to finish our tour?"
"Yeah, where to next?" I say, smiling.
"How about where the school is and the football field? It's not that far away."
"Yeah, that works." I say, getting up and reaching for her hand to help her up.
"Let's do it." She says, accepting my hand and smiling.
I see Trey look over at us and giving me a glare. He obviously knows she likes him and wants to keep it that way.
I open the door and we walk out.
We've been walking for about five minutes now.
"So," Wendy says as we begin approaching a football field, "This is the football field, there will be a party on the fourth of July. Mostly we will be celebrating who made it on the team. We also shoot fireworks and some of the football players bring beer. Therefore most of the football players and some regular folks get drunk. The party is for high schoolers only so, there are no chaperones."
"So when are tryouts, do you know?"
I love playing football. At my old school, I was the QB. My coach always said I was the best on the team. I almost never dated cheerleaders and I don't do one night hook-ups, either.
"You play football?" She asks.
"Yeah. At my old school I was QB."
"That's cool. I think tryouts are on the twentieth of June."

We are standing on Wendy's doorstep. I lean forward. When she closes her eyes, I smile. I don't plan on that, well... not yet. I kiss her on the cheek.
I whisper in her ear, "Not yet. We barely know each other. Maybe later though. I like you. Not just as friends either."
She gasps.
"I... I like you too." She says, unsure.
We stand there for a minute, grinning like fools.
"Well I guess I should go now..." She says, pointing over her shoulder at the door.
"Yeah... wait, do you wanna do something tomorrow? Maybe you could show me who to talk to about football tryouts?"
"Yeah that sounds good."
"Okay, then. How about I pick you up at one? My car should be here by then."
"That works for me. See you then."
"See you."
When I walk into my room a few minutes later, I smile to myself. I may have a girlfriend worth keeping before school even starts.
I bet that she isn't very popular but then again, popular never was my type.

So, what does everyone think? Hopefully you haven't had time to read my story since no one has read the last few chapters yet.
If you haven't already please vote, comment, or follow me.
The next chapter I write is gonna be a break down of who all the characters are. It will have their first and last name and who the are in the story.
I came up with the story some time during the summer and have a plan for this book, I just have to actually write it.
If you see any grammatical errors please notify me and I will fix them. I hope there aren't though, since I just edited.
