Nick and I ended up on the beach. I was trying my hardest to hold back tears, but I knew soon enough they would all come crashing down like a waterfall.

"If it makes you feel any better, she wasn't as beautiful as you." I glare over at Nick and he bites his lip as his head falls.

"I just. . . I should've known."

"It's hard to see what's reality when you're in love."

"But Edwin... he- he told me! And I didn't believe him. I didn't believe my bestfriend." I pull my knees into my chest as I stare out at the water in front of me. Nick's arm drapes around my shoulder and I lean into his body. "Thanks for staying behind Nick."

"No problem. I never trusted that guy. He's too pretty." I let out a small giggle as Nick rubs his hand up and down my arm.

"Nick can I ask you something?"

"Anything."

"What happened with you and Alexis two years ago?"

"We broke up... that's it."

"There had to be a reason Nicholas."

"I really don't want to talk about this, okay?"

"Okay. I'll leave it alone." A cool breeze begins to blow and I shiver. Nick unwraps his arm from me and begins to take off his hoodie. "N-Nick you don't-"

"Arms up." I do as he says and Nick slips his hoodie over my head and pulls it down. Nick leans back and smiles at me. "You look cute in my hoodie." I blush and look down as Nick's arm regains it's previous position. "Do you want to head home?"

"Maybe in a few minutes, I like it out here."

"Alright."

Nick

Abigail had fallen asleep in the car on my shoulder and I couldn't stop staring at her. She was so beautiful. A thin strand of hair hung in front of her mouth and would lift up every time she would breathe out."Girlfriend?" The driver asks. I saw a ring on his left hand so he was married. And a picture of what I'm guessing is his children was stuck in the visor.

"Uhm no, my friend's sister."

"Ah... I have kids of my own ya know. A boy and a girl, twins. They're both 16. I've heard all the stories. Best friend's brother or sister, boy next door, bestfriend since grade school, all of it. You look at he like she's everything. You haven't looked away since you got in."

"She doesn't like me like that. Believe me, I've tried, but it just wont work."

"It takes a minute for them to come around. That's the same thing I used to say about my wife." The car comes to a stop and I sigh. "Just keep trying young man."

"Thank you sir." I wake up Abigail before saying goodbye and shutting the door. As we walk up to Abigail's building she grabs my arm tightly and leans her head on my arm. I don't say anything, I just smile.

Soon enough we get to Abigail's apartment and she opens the door before turning back to me. "Thank you, Nicholas. I appreciate you staying with me."

"No problem. I like hanging out with you Abby." Abigail just smiles. Her eyes wandered by face like she was analyzing me. "Well I have to head back. Goodnight Abby."

"Night Nick." I begin to walk away until I hear Abigail call for me. I turn around and Abigail grabs the front of my shirt and pulls me down to her level. She quickly leans forward and connects her lips with mine. I freeze trying to figure out if I was dreaming or not. I wasn't. Abigail Arreaga was kissing me. She pulls away just as quickly as she pulled me in.

Abigail stares at me with wide eyes and her mouth agape. "I-I'm sorry I-" She tried to say, but I grab her waist  and dip my head down connecting my lips with hers once more. This time I actually kissed her instead of freezing in place. Abigail wrapped her arms around my shoulders pulling me closer.

After a few seconds I pull away and rest my forehead on Abigail's. She slowly opens her eyes and I smile. "The reason I broke up with Alexis was because I knew I loved you more than I loved her. I thought it was wrong of me to stay with her."

"Y-You love me?"

"Maybe?" Abigail smiles widely and laughs.

"You make no sense Nicholas." Abigail takes a small step back and bites her lip. "I'll see you tomorrow for Movie Night?"

"It's New Years of course. The guys said we should be over around 7. Wanna make burgers again?"

"I'd love to." I awkwardly nod and step back. "And hey, don't tell Brandon about this, okay?"

"I wouldn't dream of it. Goodnight Abby."

"Goodnight Nick."

With that Abigail closes her door and I wait for a few seconds before quietly celebrating. She likes me. SHE LIKES ME.
