Dumbass // Nick Mara

We ended up playing until at least two of us won three times in a row. Sadly neither of those people were me. Zion won a giant Lion and Nick won a giant snake, of course. I was currently walking beside Nick as we talked about random topics.

"Okay so Billy and Mandy or Foster's home?" I ask. 

"Those were like the two best shows!"

"You've gotta answer."

"Alright... uhm... Foster's home. I swear that palm tree bird thing was on something." Nick's arm drapes around my shoulder and I feel my cheeks heat up. 

"I know right?" I ask laughing. 

"Alright I have one for you. Cowardly Dog or Flapjack?"

"Flapjack hands down!"

"What? No way! Courage the Cowardly Dog was an OG!"

"Okay, but we can both agree that Kids Next Door was the shit." We were at the exit gate of the Pier when Brandon called out.

"Yo! Where's Caleb?"

"Oh he said he was going to the bathroom, I'll go get him. You guys can go ahead home, I'll just catch an Uber there."

"I'm gonna go with you Abby." Nick says wrapping his stuffed snake around his neck as he comes to my side.

"Alright." I say as Brandon gives me a quick hug and kisses my cheek. Nick follows behind me as I walk through the giant year-round fair that was placed on the Santa Monica Beach. I find the bathrooms, but I didn't see Caleb anywhere. After looking around for a bit I feel Nick tap my shoulder. I look at him and he bites his lip as he points over to a nearby food stand. 

There stood Caleb with another girl. Holding her hand, smiling at her, kissing her cheek. I watch in disbelief not wanting to believe that, that was my boyfriend standing over there. The sweet guy I had met in Tropical Smoothie. The boy who's smile made me weak.

The girl rubs her arms as if she was cold. Caleb reaches back only to realize his jacket wasn't on his shoulders. It was on mine. I angrily pull it off and stare. I had been wearing it all night. Taking in his scent. The same scent that calmed my nerves for months. . .

He says something and begins to run towards where Nick and I were. He almost runs right past us but Nick calls out.

"Dumbass! Forgetting something?" Caleb turns and his eyes lock on mine.

"H-Hey babe. I was just-"

"Getting your jacket for her?" I finish his sentence and he seems taken aback.

"What do you mean?" I glance at the ground and anger fills my body. 

"I would've been okay if you broke up with me like a normal person, but to cheat on me on a date that I brought you on and to lie right to my face when you know you've been caught... that's a dick move." I say through my teeth balling the collar of his jacket in my hand.

"I wasn't-"

"Are you fucking kidding me?!" I feel a warm hand on my back and I knew it was Nick. I breath out trying to calm myself, but it doesn't work

"Abigail-"

"Don't Abigail me! I saw you! I watched as you loved another girl like you loved me!" By now people were staring. Nick stood behind me silent.

"Baby-"

"Just shut up. Here." I thrown Caleb's jacket on the ground stomping on it once. "Don't ever talk to me again. We're through." I turn on my heel to leave, but a cold hand grips my wrist tightly.

"Will you shut up and listen to me?!" Caleb shouts. Before he was able to say another word Nick turns around and socks him in the face. Caleb stumbles to the ground and Nick grips his hand.

"She said leave her alone asshole." Nick spits on the ground beside Caleb, barely missing, before interlacing his hand with mine as we both angrily march away.
