"Kiri, I'm fine," I promised, sitting up in the hospital bed. "Just a couple fractures, not even a single broken bone."

Despite that, Eijiro held my hand tightly, little tears sprouting from his eyes. "Dammit, I should have come to help! You were out there, fighting the League of Villains, while I was inside doing nothing to help! And you got hurt because of that!"

"This physical pain is only temporary," I swore. "It would hurt my heart to know you got hurt on your way to me. I'm glad you stayed, because you weren't hurt back there."

Eijiro managed to stop his tears, looking at me with glossy, yet hopeful eyes. "Let's not...just get better, okay?" he asked, voice raw from crying. "We'll miss you in class if you're gone too long."

"I'll be all better before you know it," I said, grabbing both of his hands. I used the chance that I had, offering a short kiss against his lips as affirmation of my words.

He seemed okay with that answer. He wiped his eyes and gave me a big smile, letting me know that he'd get better, too.

Quickly enough, that smile dropped. He tried to hold my gaze, but something seemed to make him nervous to keep his eyes on mine.

"I'm...going to ask Yaoyorozu for a reciever," he told me. "I'm going to find Bakugo and try to save him."

"That's a terrible idea!" I immediately reprimanded, causing his eyes to focus on the floor. "Leave this to the pros! Our friends have had enough to go through already! I won't let you go!"

"I'm not asking permission," he responded, making me stop. At last, he looked into my eyes with an unstoppable resolve. "Bakugo is my friend, and the least I can do is help him. Whether you want me to or not, I will go."

This time, I was the one who began to cry. Even though his words made it seem like he didn't care, I knew that my words had really hurt him. He wanted me to be there for him, to help him when he needed me most, but I just couldn't lie and say that it didn't hurt me.

"Come here, you idiot," I cried, hugging him. Although surprised, he wrapped his arms around me to return the action. "I know I can't stop you from going. No matter what I say, you'll still go. I can't say anything about it. I have no idea what it's like to be in your place, especially at a time like this."

I sniffed, trying to contain myself, but the tears continued. "You might feel like you have to go, but you don't have to. At least, not in my eyes."

Eijiro pulled back a bit, wiping my eyes gently. "Nothing I say will stop you, but I'll beg you to listen to this. I have only one request."

"Anything," he promised, putting a hand on my cheek.

Unable to control myself, I buried my head into his chest, gripping his shirt like a lifeline. "Come back to me, dammit! Don't you dare die out there, you idiot!"

The very idea made me cry even harder, and Eijiro patted my back soothingly. He allowed me to let all of my tears out, vent out all of my frustrations and worries for the days to come. He allowed himself to be my rock.

"I'll come back," he told me. "There's no way I'd let them take me. I'll come back to you."

"You better," I cried, sniffing. "And if you come back all roughed up, I'll fucking kill you."

"It'll be fine," he said to me, smiling. "Before you know it, I'll be right here, walking you out of this hospital. You don't have to worry about me, babe."

"You better," I repeated, sniffing.

The fight between All Might and All For One was broadcast over basically every news station. No matter what channel they changed it to, every TV in the hospital was showing that battle.

I had seen a short moment on the news where Kirishima, aided by Iida, Midoriya, Todoroki, and Yaoyorozu, had saved Bakugo. One way or another, someone had made a plan that didn't involve them fighting.

Somewhere in the middle of the battle, a doctor came in, saying he needed to take a few tests. This worried me, because that could only mean there was something wrong with me.

I was lead into what looked like a surgery room, but the doctor promised I wasn't getting surgery. At least, not today.

No, I was given a few X-rays, where they checked on my healing progress. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary to them, so they allowed me to return to my bed, letting me know I'd be discharged the next day.

On the way out, I couldn't help but overhear a couple of other doctors.

"...a medical mystery," said one doctor. "Her bones look normal, but they shouldn't have healed so quick. Recovery girl hasn't visitied her, has she?"

"Not that we have documented," another doctor replied. "Perhaps...this is an unkown quirk of hers that she didn't know about. We'll have to look further into her data and check for any..."

The doctor that was walking me closed the door to the big room, cutting off the conversation from my ears.

"It's almost past bedtime for this ward," he warned me with a kind smile. "Lights out in twenty minutes, so you'd better hurry off to bed."

I nodded with a false smile, walking oiff toward my room. Another quirk? How could that be? Neither of my parents had any healing quirk, nor did any other relative of mine.

The thought taunted me as I laid down for bed. By the time I had finished my check-up, the fight was over. The TV's had all returned to their normal programs, leaving me unaware of the events.

Scowling, I turned off the TV in my room, lying my head down. It didn't matter. The lack of a panic let me know that All Might won, so everything would be okay.

Everything would be okay.

"Wake up, babe!" came a familiar voice. Bright lights invaded my eyes as I came into awareness. "Come on, you're getting discharged today!"

"I'm...sleeping," I whined pulling my blanket over my eyes. "Two...ten more minutes, please."

Eijiro groaned, before I felt my blanket get thrown off of me.

"Kiri!" I whined loudly, shivering at the cold, hospital air. "That's not nice."

"I never said I play nice," he noted, sitting next to me on the hospital bed. Still sleepy, I laid my head on his leg, sighing when he started rubbing my back.

"Thanks for coming back," I whispered, and he 'hmph'-ed a little bit. "Thanks for keeping your promise."

"Don't worry about it," he said, a smile evident in his tone. "I'd never break my promise to you, babe."

I smiled at that, putting a hand over the one he wasn't using. Gently, I squeezed his fingers in my own, and he returned the action.

Before too long, he managed to get me out of the bed, where I wobbled and had a little trouble moving without crutches. Thankfully, Eijiro kept his hands on my shoulders, steadying me until I could move on my own. Even then, he held my hand as an assurance that he was there with me.

A doctor came in not long after, telling me I was free to go and that I had to tell the lady at the front desk before I left.

With that, Eijiro walked me home from the hospital, smiling all the while. He didn't bring up anything from the night before, probably not wanging to make me mad. Instead, he talked about how excited he was to see me getting better, and enthused about going to the dorms.

"I'd get to see you every day," he said. "Outside of school, I mean."

I smiled, rolling my eyes. "That's if my parents let me leave their sight within the next few days. God, they're gonna kill me."

Eijiro laughed, and I couldn't stop myself from doing the same.

Maybe, just maybe, everything would be just fine.
