The creature that might also be the White Thing is attested to have been seen around multiple counties in WV. It is most commonly seen or heard in Boone, Kanawha, Putnam, and Mason counties during the mid 90's and sometimes today.

It's appearance is that of a bear sized creature with dirty wooly fur and sometimes is quadruped or bipedal. Sheepsquatch also has a long pointed head like a canine and it has jagged teeth and single point horns. It is also said to have a smell that is of sulfur. Which has been attributed through lore to the creature being from the Mason County explosives area. The scent is also said to just be from a gland that some animals have.

Here's the best known accounts:

In 1994, a former Navy man said having witnessed the beast walking through the forest after it was seen eating mushrooms. The white thing broke through the brush line and knelt to drink from a creek. It then crossed the creek and continued on toward the nearby road. The witness stated that he observed the animal for awhile before it moved on into the surrounding brush.

Also in 1994 two children watched the creature while playing in their yard within Boone County. What they reported having seen was described as a large white bear that stood up on it's hind legs. Startled by the children, it ran off through the forest, breaking medium sized limbs off of trees as it went.

In 1995 a couple were in a car driving though Boone County when they saw a large white creature sitting in a ditch. Rather dumbly, they pulled over to get a closer look at what might be there. The description is the same as the others but this time the two said that the creature has four eyes. The creature jumped at of the ditch and started attacking the car. The couple drove away and once they arrived back home they saw the scratches on the side of their vehicle.

During 1999 a group of campers where also in Boone County sat around a bonfire. What first got their attention were the sounds of snorting that sounded similar to an agitated bear. Then Sheepsquatch charged out of the woods and at the people. The campers quickly got up and ran into their cabin while still being chased by it. The thing stopped after the people were out of the forest and screamed at them. After this it turned around and left back into the forest. In the morning the campers returned to their campsite and to the trail that lead home to find that the site was torn up. One camper stated that it looked like a tiller was taken to the place.

At Fulks Run, Virginia in 2015 the creature or one of the creatures was encountered by six campers. The campers reported it to be at least eight feet with a shoulder width of four feet. The first camper to see it said that it was on the top of a hill crouching down. It then stood up and began to run down the slope at them. The camper alerted their friends and they ran. The group and the creature were separated by a river. As the campers watched the Sheepsquatch began to look for a way to get to them and it decided to wade into the river. The campers said it looked like a bipedal dog as it walked through the water. As it reached the other side of the bank it was still looking for them and a gut based screech could be heard from somewhere else. The Sheepsquatch was said to whimper as it heard that sound and it took off in the opposite direction of that scream.
