Chapter 15 Emma's New Brother or Sister Arrives!

        Eight months later, Adrien wakes up when his daughter, Emma taps on his shoulder!  "Daddy, daddy!   Quick mommy says, my little brother or sister is on the way!" Emma says.

     "Wow!"  Adrien says.  He jumps out of bed, gets dressed, put on his bedroom slippers, grabs up his wallet and car keys, and tells Emma, "put on your coat,gloves and shoes."  He goes downstairs.  He helps Marinette carry the bag to the car.  He places the bag on the backseat,as Emma sits down in her own seat, and puts her seatbelt on all by herself!  He smiles as he thinks, she sure has grown a lot!  He goes back inside, and helps assist Marinette to the car.  

       Once, his wife seats down, he closes the car door for her, gets in the drivers seat, puts on his seat belt,closes the door and drives them to the hospital.  They arrive their thirty minutes later, and he helps assist Marinette in from the car. Emma carries the bag the best she can despite it being rather heavy for a child her age.

        After Marinette gets checked into a room, Adrien takes the bag from Emma before she drops it on her toe.  He carries it to the room.  Emma and him, sit down on the bench near the window.  Now, they wait and wait!  It seems like the wait would never be over!  At least to Emma it sure did, as she was anxious to see her baby brother, or sister! 

        At long last, the wait was over as the cries of her sibling could be heard throughout the room!  The doctor exclaims, congratulations you three, it is a healthy baby boy!  

     Emma smiles. She wishes it were a sister.  A sister could be someone she could share things with and besides, what was she to do with a boy anyway?  These were the thoughts that ran through Emma's head. 

  Adrien and Marinette just smile. They both appear to be just as enthusiastic as ever at the announcement that their dear new little bundle of joy, is a boy!   Adrien grins. He wonders, what should we name our son?  

 Emma takes a closer look at her brother.  

"Should we name him Louis, or Hugo? "Emma asks.

 "Well, what do you think, dear?" Marinette asks.

 "I think, either name seems to suit him. Which one do you prefer?"  Adrien asks.

 "I say we name him Hugo if that is okay with you!  Hugo Gabe Agreste that is!" Marinette replies.

 "Well, then Hugo it is!" Adrien says.

"Yeah, Hugo is my new baby brother!" Emma remarks.

  The doctor smiles at the lovely married couple, along with their daughter and their new little boy!  She says,  "Good news, Hugo is healthy as can be!  He weighs 8 lbs. 7 oz and is 21 1/2  inches long."   

    "My bro, is fat! Haha," Emma remarks.

  Adrien chuckles under his breath at Emma's response. Marinette does the same.

The doctor just smiles and nods her head as she leaves the room.

     The family stays over night that night just a precaution which is the policy of the hospital.  The next morning, they all leave to head home around seven.  They arrive back at their home by nine am.  Emma sure is glad to be back, as she helps hang up everyone's coats, hats and gloves on the coat rack.  Marinette goes and sits on the sofa.  Adrien places Hugo in her arms.  He goes back to the car and brings in the items the staff at the hospital sent home with them. Then, he locks the car back.  He goes to the kitchen and fixes a nice breakfast for the three of them as Hugo is not old enough for solid foods yet.  

    Meanwhile, Marinette nurses Hugo, and burps him. She changes his diaper and places him down gently in his crib. As Hugo sleeps, they all eat the nice meal of  toast, applesauce, bacon and scrambled eggs. Emma is pleased to see her eggs have an extra portion of cheese grated over the top.  After the meal, Hugo and Marinette nap.  Emma plays with her doll, and Adrien reads the newspaper.

  Later, at the end of their first day home together as a family of four, Adrien can not help but beam at his family!  He thinks, he must be one blessed man in deed to have such a fine family as this.  He could not imagine it any other way!
