"Look Mike, I'm scared that Richie knows." Eddie was in mikes room at 4:14am the next morning. The young looking teenager sat on the bed that was covered in a plaid blanket, head in his hands.
"Why would you think that?" Mike was worried now, it'd only been a very short amount of time and Rich was already suspicious.
"He asked me about you. Said it's weird how I look at you when I think nobody is looking."
"Shit. Just can't help yourself can you?" Mike jokes although his tone and face was the opposite of joking. He was worried, very very worried.
"Fuck, Ed's. I dont wanna come out. I'm just not ready yet." Eddie pretended that Mike didn't call him Ed's and did something awfully bold for the anxious teen he was. He reached over and put his hand over mikes, in a sort of
"it's okay, I'm here" way."I have an idea." Eddie sighed, grabbing mikes attention away from their warm hands.
"I have to hate you. And you have to hate me."
"So what? Just don't talk to eachother when people are around?"
"Nope. We will talk, just not kindly."
It was now six in the morning. Mike heard a knock at his window and it happened to be loud enough to wake him up. He was super confused, his window is on the second floor.
He stood up swiftly and opened the door to see a girl. She wore blue overalls with one of his button ups underneath it. He groaned at her pink lips that smacked as she chewed bubble gum.
"El. What are you doing here?"
"Saw a weird van at my boyfriends house. I haven't seen you in days I was worried." She said in an angry tone, crossing her arms. Her hair was in a half up half down with a scrunchie and when she turned her head her hair whipped with it.
He turned away from the window, knowing that she would run to the door and then up the stairs. It took about 30 seconds for her to do so, and in no time the angry girl was in his room.
I forgot to fucking break up with her.
Mike was so mad at himself. She took his hand and grabbed his waist, pulling him into a soft hug."I missed you." He was cranky, it was early, he wanted to be away from her at the moment.
"El, listen." He began, causing her eyes that looked like pools of honey to look at him with a small smile on her pink lips, rosy cheeks rising. She really was beautiful, but he simply fell out of love with her, and that happens sometimes, and that's okay. But being around her made him sad and angry and frustrated. He simply didn't enjoy her company as she was constantly all over him. Deep down, he didn't hate the girl, no no, he actually loved her. The thing was that he wasn't in love with her. Those two things were completely different.
"El, please don't be mad at me." He sighed. She became anxious, her face becoming bummed.
"What did you do?"
"I-Jesus-" he truly didn't think he would be able to say it.
"I fell out of love with you, el. I'm so sorry. I hope you understand that I do still love you, but I'm not in love with you. I love to have you as my friend but as for a relationship? It's over." He's said it harshly, and as soon as he looked down he saw the tears in her eyes.
"Oh..." she looked so sad, for she had still been in love with him.
"Okay.... I can respect that, if it's what you.. want..?" She's asked it like she wanted an answer as to if he'd really felt that way. He simply nodded, a short and sorry nod.
"Alright..." she grabbed his hand and squeezed it, getting on her tip toes and pecking his cheek.
"Is it okay if I stay for the day? I told hop I'd be staying..."
"Yes! Of course." He was such an empathetic teen and it destroyed him, but nonetheless she took her shoulder and softly directed her towards the kitchen so he could warm up some waffles for her.
"Thanks Mike." She said solemnly as she bit the eggo slowly.
"Listen el, that van outside.. it's because we have some guests over." With that Mike began to tell her all about Richie and his friends, having to stop himself from talking every so often or it'd seem like he was talking about Eddie far too much.
Eddie woke up, rubbing his eyes softly as if he were a child. He was very tired and he had dark under eyes, but the light that creeped through the window awoke him. He couldn't be mad, the sunlight was warm and beautiful.
Eddie began to climb out of his sleeping bag so that he could crawl over to Richie and wake him up, but the smaller of the two boys stopped himself before he got over to his friends sleeping bag. He was still wearing Mikes sweater, and there is no way that he could be seen wearing it. He rushed to the bathroom with his bag and changed into some comfy clothes, hoping that his friends would be okay with a day inside to chill.
When Eddie came out of the bathroom, Richie was on his stomach, groaning louder and louder as he heard his friend approach. Eddie laughed and softly smacked The back of Richie's head.
"EDDIE!!!" He yelled very dramatically.
"Shut up! That didn't even hurt!"
"Would you two come up here and not kill eachother for once?" Mike chuckled, closing the basement door and going back to the kitchen to be with el.
"Awh I would never kill this little bugger!" Richie said happily as he took Eddie into a headlock and started scrubbing the younger boy's head with his fist.
"Ow! Richie get off!"
The teenagers had finally gotten up and decided to go upstairs. As soon as they entered the kitchen they were very confused.
"Who's that?" Eddie asked.
"This is el. She's one of my good friends." Mike said warily, trying not to offend el.
"Mike, it's okay. Really. I'm el, or Jane. I'm Mikes ex girlfriend as of this morning." She smiled kindly, sticking out a hand for the boy.
"Oh..." he took her hand and shook it. She was pretty, very pretty. Eddie was so confused.
Why would mike act like he liked me when he had a girlfriend?
