Hawkins, Indiana. September 8 '88

It was a Friday night in Hawkins. Teenagers roamed the streets of the harmless town and shopped in the huge mall. Meanwhile, Eddie sat in mikes room. Mike was currently glued to his new Spider-Man comic but Eddie was content just being with him.

Suddenly, Mike looked up at Eddie and shut his book, smirking at him.

"So I have been thinking." Mike said, moving towards Eddie and sitting with him. Eddie couldn't help but blush at the look on Mikes face. Eddie hummed in response.

"I think.. I think I want people to know about us." Mike held Eddies soft hand, looking into his big brown eyes.

"Us?" Eddie asked him, genuinely not knowing what they were. Mike smiled softly at the boy in front of him.

He slowly leaned in and connected their lips. Eddie blushed furiously and closed his eyes, melting into the passionate kiss.

"Us." Mike whispered, placing a hand of Eddies cheek.

"O-okay!" Eddies little voice cracked.

It was 11:46pm and Eddie and Mike were devising a plan for Mike to come out to everyone. Mike wanted to come out to his family and then his friends. He did not want eleven to be there when he was going to make his announcement.

"How about we all meet up somewhere like the diner and you can just straight up tell them that you're not... straight." Eddie shrugged. Mike smiled at his boyfriend lovingly.

"You're too cute." He sighed, reaching over and pulling Eddie onto his lap. He rested his chin on Eddies shoulder and let the smaller boy keep talking about his ideas.

"I think I'll come out to my mom someday. I just think that day should be when I'm moving out. That way, she can't send me to some anti-gay summer camp or try to give me medicine for my sickness."

Mike nodded, agreeing with the boy.

"How about we go to bed, love? I'd like to be up nice and early tomorrow so we can make waffles for breakfast." He grinned, helping Eddie up and going to put on his pyjamas.

The two cuddled closely, Mike mumbled the words to some song as he softly counted Eddies freckles.

"Eddie my love, I love you so." He sang, just below a whisper. Eddie blushed as he looked into his boyfriends eyes lovingly.

"Goodnight my love." He whispered, kissing Mike softly on the lips and then on the cheek.

"Goodnight Baby."

In the night, Mike woke up to Eddie tapping his shoulder softly. He looked up at Eddie through his eyelashes sleepily but when he saw the look on Eddies face he sat up quickly. The boy cupped his boyfriends face delicately.

"What's wrong my love?" He asked in a genuinely concerned voice.

"Nothing- nothing is wrong." Eddie reassured Mike. Mike tilted his head that the boy that sat in front of him.

"Eddie, you're crying." He whispered softly.

"Happy tears." Eddie responded. "I'm happy because I think I realized something and I want you to know about it." Eddie began. Mike sat and listened while looking into Eddies sleepy eyes.

"I think for a long time I had to face my fears, but they were all stupid. The losers- they'd drag me to the Aladdin and we'd sneak in and watch scary movies. I was always scared of the monsters," Eddie was looking at Mike but it was almost as if he were lost in his memories, so lost, that he couldn't even see his boyfriend anymore.

"I was so scared of them but I did get over them eventually. You know I'm a Germaphobe, so I was always scared of being sick. When my mom told me about how Eddie McCormac was sent away for his sickness, it's scared me. I was sick too! McCormac liked boys! He was sick! It just wasn't right." Eddie sighed, wiping a tear and continuing.

"I was scared. I pushed my feelings away, I looked at Beverly as she laid there in her underwear but only because that what the other, healthy boys were doing. I pushed it away all these years." He looked up at Mike, into his dark eyes, into his light soul.

"But then you, you came along and you helped me. No, you didn't cure my sickness but you helped me understand that I was not in fact sick at all, I was just different, and now I know that it's okay that I'm different. I know now that what we have is not sick at all. We have love, and love is beautiful." Eddie finished, kissing Mike on the lips. Mike then wiped his own tears and pulled Eddie in tightly for a huge hug.

In the morning the two boys got up early to make waffles for the family. They made real waffles with batter and a waffle iron.

"Eddie spaghetti!" Holly laughed happily and jumped into the small boys arms.

"Ready for some waffles?" He asked happily. The girl nodded quickly and grinned as she pointed at the syrup bottle.

"This was very nice of you two." Karen wheeler smiled fondly at Mike and Eddie. Richie nodded with a mouth full of the entire waffle that he dared himself to eat in one bite.

"What was it you wanted to say?" Nancy asked him with a small smile. Eddie knew that she knew. Nancy knew exactly what this was and she was very happy that it was finally happening.

"I um- I just wanted you guys to be more involved in my life because I know I've been distancing myself and I know you just want to help. So I figured, I could start by letting you know that Eddie is my boyfriend and I really really really like him so please don't embarrass me- ehem- richie." Mike glanced around his brother who was trying hold back tears as he laughed and choked on his waffle.

"That's- thats great honey. I'm very proud of you. Thank you for telling us." Karen smiled fondly at Mike. Mr. Wheeler looked like he didn't know what to say because he was scared that he'd say the wrong thing.

"Um yes, son, your mother and I are very proud. We're just lucky you got someone like Eddie rather than something like richie." He looked over at richie who was still laughing hysterically.

"I knew it! I fucking knew it!" Richie breathed out happily.

"Fucking!" Holly yelled happily.

"RICHARD!"

A.N. I'm sorry this took sooooo long ugh. But I'm writing another book so if you like the Harry Potter franchise I suggest you take a look. That book is much more fancy and neat than this one seeing as this is something so bizarre that I thought no one would read it but uh thanks for reading it anyway!
