Hawkins, Indiana. August 13th '88

Mike stepped out of the back seat, holding the door open for Eddie.

"So this whole street is new. All of the houses were just built. From what I've heard, they've all got a nice layout for a small family. It's also only a ten minute walk from Hawkins High." Mike informed Mrs.Kaspbrack who only nodded.

"Oh! I like this light yellow! Oh my gosh look at how beautiful the light blue one is!" Eddie yelled, running to a light blue house with a small white porch.

"Wow, Eddie. That house is very nice." Mike calmly commented.

"Do you know if we're allowed to go in?" Mrs. K asked.

"Well let's see." Mike smiled before running to the for sale sign.

Open house from 8-5 all week

The three entered the house to be met with two other couples and a real-estate agent.

The blonde lady welcomed them to the new house. It smelt of fresh pine and walnuts.

"Woah..." Eddie mumbled, at a loss for words. The boys headed upstairs. In Eddies mind, he could picture his room. It would be light pink with a white bedspread. He would make a wall of all of the photos he had and he'd get a bookshelf for his books. He'd fill his closet with colourful clothes and decorate his desk with little potted plants.

Mike watched Eddie as he walked slowly around the room, admiring every crack of the wooden floors. He smiled as Eddie reached out to feel a drop of paint that had dried on the grey wall. Eddie was a masterpiece to Mike, and he simply couldn't stand to look at anything else while Eddie was standing in front of him.

The small boys eyes glimmered with happiness as he looked around, thinking up all of the opportunities the house would give him.

Mike walked over to Eddie, his careful footsteps made the wooden floor creak. He smiled softly at the short boy and put his hand on Eddies cheek.

"Mike..." he smiled. Mike simply smiled back before bringing his lips to Eddies. Eddie giggled and moved away from Mike, playfully skipping around empty hallways. The golden light entered the big windows in a way that made the small house look magical.

"Come back here!" Mike laughed, chasing the laughing boy all around the house. It was like nobody else was there. Just the two of them.

Mike and Eddie came home to dinner being cooked.

"Hey Holly!" Mike smiled at his sister happily, taking her hand and guiding her to the living room to do a puzzle.

"What's up with Mike?" Mrs. Wheeler asked Eddie who laughed.

"He's just in a good mood. My mom and I bought a house here today. It's gorgeous. We're moving in next week!" Karen smiled at the happy boy.

"Well feel free to stay with us as long as you need until you're moved in. You're good for Mike. You make him happy." She smiled fondly at the now blushing boy. He nodded quickly with a smile on his lips before heading to the living room.

Eddie walked into the carpeted room, his socked feet making no sound on the soft carpet.

"Hey.." he said softly, sitting down next to Mike and Holly with his legs crossed.

"Hi Eddie!" Holly grinned, flipping a puzzle piece to the right side.

"Hello there stinky!" He poked her making her laugh out happily. Mike got up and bent down behind Eddie to give him a hug.

"Wha-" Eddie was cut off by Mike.

"I'm gonna have a shower. Play with Holly for me?" Mike asked Eddie in his ear softly. Eddie nodded quickly as Mike got up.

As soon as her brother was gone, Holly looked at Eddie as if she were deciding something.

"So do you like Mike?" She asked him, putting a piece into place. Eddie was just about to finish the red birds face when he looked up at her with wide eyes.

"Wha- What?" He asked her in surprise.

"Do you like Mike? You know, are you gonna get married?" Holly asked casually, placing Eddies piece where he was going to put it.

"Holly, where did you hear that from?" Holly now looked up at Eddie in confusion. Wasn't it normal for people to get married?

"From school. People are saying I like Briton but I would never. Anyway, if you like Mike you guys should get married because Mike likes you. I can tell." She shrugged.

"Holly, you can't just get married. Usually you date before that. Also... boys can't marry boys.. not yet." Eddie sighed, picking up another piece.

"What? Why not? That doesn't seem fair." He sighed again, his dimples disappearing from his freckles face.

"It's not fair, Holly. People think boys and boys can't be in love and girls and girls can't be in love. I don't believe that though. I think you can love whoever you want to." Eddie ranted to the small girl. She nodded in agreement.

"I'm gonna marry Sarah when I'm older. I love her." She told him.

"Sarah?" He asked kindly.

"Yeah. I have three friends but Sarah is my best best." She smiled up at him, in a sort of admiration. He only smiled back, finishing the puzzle with a little red feather.

When it was dinner Mike came down with damp curls and grey sweatpants on and a dark blue sweater.

"Hey." He smiled at Eddie as he grabbed the two of them water. Eddie smiled back at him before heading to the table. During dinner he told the Wheelers about how he'd bought a new house in Hawkins. Him and Richie also shared story's from their time in Derry and how much fun they'd had.

When Mike headed up to bed after a long tiring day, Eddie immediately passed out where he sat on the couch. Richie smiled softly at his best friend and picked him up, placing him back on the couch but now he was spread out instead of sitting up.

The boy with glasses grabbed a soft blanket and placed it over Eddie, making little noise so he wouldn't wake the boy. When Eddie was tucked in, Richie ran upstairs to get a glass of water for Eddie, along with his two medications that he would take in the morning.

Sighing, Richie laid on the ground with his blankets and pillows and drifted off to sleep.

A.N. Reddie is an amazing ship and I love it so much, but this book isn't about them being in love. No I will not make them fight. They are best friends in this book and they'll be there for each other the whole way through.

Also I wanna know if I should write an original book I had an idea for? Maybe I'll post it maybe not but it's whatever :)
